Cricket Wordle (Draft Challenger)

Rate it

Name the day's cricket player in eight guesses, or fifteen in Classic.

on draftchallenger.com

Today's Cricket Wordle board on the Wordle tab, guess 1 of 8: Virat Kohli, batting hand green, role and bowling red, arrows on T20 seasons 19 and age 37

Cricket Wordle on Draft Challenger is a daily guess-the-cricketer game with two boards. The Wordle board gives eight tries, each guess compared with the hidden player on role, batting style, bowling style, T20 seasons and age; the Classic board gives fifteen guesses at an international from any era, set against their real career figures. Both are the same for everyone each day.

About Cricket Wordle (Draft Challenger)

Cricket Wordle is part of Draft Challenger, a sports site that runs daily player boards for a dozen sports beside its all-time draft game. Each day it hides one cricketer on each of two boards, and everyone gets the same answers for the same calendar day.

On the Wordle board you pick a player from the list and press Guess. The row compares your pick with the answer on role (top-order batter, spin bowler and so on), batting hand, bowling style, T20 seasons and age. Each tile is a match, close or miss, and the number tiles carry an arrow toward the right value. Eight names is the limit, and yesterday's player is shown under the board.

Classic is the harder board. The answer is an international with a real Test and limited-overs career, from any era back to the first Test in 1877. Before you start, the board names the era, one opening fact (such as career length) and the discipline of the day (bowlers, batters or all-rounders), and fills in one example row. Each guess is set against the answer's real figures: wickets and economy for bowlers, runs, average, high score and strike rate for batters, with innings, season, team and first year. After four misses the team appears, and after seven another exact fact, with the option to reveal the answer. You have fifteen guesses.

Both boards change at midnight US Eastern time, which is mid-morning in India, and keep separate streaks on your device with no account needed. The same site has Cricket Grid, Cricket Connections and Build a Cricket Player. It suits fans who know players across formats and eras.

Tips

  • Role splits the Wordle field first: a top-order batter, a spin bowler or an all-rounder rules out most of the list.
  • Follow the arrows on T20 seasons and age to move between generations.
  • In Classic, open with a well-known international from the 1990s or 2000s to learn the country quickly.
  • Revealing the answer in Classic ends the day without a win and resets your streak.
