Cascadle on 20 October 2026 at desktop size: the solved three-letter row LIE with earlier guesses recoloured as clues above an empty four-letter row

Cascadle is a daily word game built as a cascade. You solve a chain of five words that grow from three letters to seven, guessing Wordle-style with colour clues and no limit on guesses. Solving one level opens the next, and all your earlier guesses are repainted as clues for the longer word below, so your score is the number of tiles you spend across all five.

About Cascadle

Cascadle starts small. The first word has three letters, and you guess it with coloured tiles marking right, misplaced and missing letters, as in Wordle. Solve it and the next level opens with a four-letter word, then five, six and seven letters.

The twist is the cascade. Once you solve a word, the tiles of every guess you made are coloured again against the next answer, so your old guesses become clues for the word you are now trying to find. A careful early guess can help you twice: once for the word in front of you and again further down the chain. Guesses are unlimited, so you cannot lose; the score is the number of tiles you used, where a miss on the seven-letter row costs seven and a perfect run costs 25.

There is a new numbered Cascadle every day at midnight local time, the same for everyone on that date, and the archive keeps the last 30 days. The site remembers games played, win rate, best score, streaks and a score spread in your browser, with no account. It offers a high contrast mode, works offline once loaded and can be added to a phone's home screen. It shows no ads. It is made by Reason Factory Ltd in England, has run since February 2026, and draws its answers from a hand-checked pool of common words.

Cascadle suits Wordle players who want a little more each day, with a chain to plan across rather than a single word.

How to play Cascadle

  1. Open cascadle.xyz and start with the three-letter word.
  2. Type a guess and read the colour clues: green for the right letter in the right spot, yellow for a letter in the wrong spot, grey for a letter not in the word.
  3. Keep guessing until the word is solved; there is no limit, but every letter you type adds a tile to your score.
  4. When the next level opens, read your earlier guesses again: they are recoloured against the new, longer word.
  5. Solve all five words, from three letters to seven, with as few tiles as you can, then share your result.

Tips

  • Choose early guesses with letters common in longer words; they keep paying off further down the chain.
  • Look at the cascaded tiles before guessing each new level; they may already pin several letters.
  • Count tiles, not guesses: short words are cheap, long ones are not, so spend effort on the later levels.
