CartoonGuessr, shown on its page as the Cartoon Guessing Game, hides one animated character each day, from SpongeBob to Adventure Time. You have 15 guesses, and each one shows whether your pick matches the answer's network, show, main or side role, first-air year, airing status and gender.
About CartoonGuessr
CartoonGuessr, shown on its page as the Cartoon Guessing Game, is a daily game of naming an animated character. Each day there is one mystery character, the same for every player, drawn from about 520 characters across shows old and new, from Betty Boop and The Flintstones to Adventure Time and The Owl House. A countdown at the top runs to the next character at midnight UTC.
You type a name, pick it from the suggestion list and press Guess. The guess drops into a grid with the character's picture and seven columns: name, network, show, main or side role, the show's first-air year, whether it is still airing, and gender. A matching cell turns green and a wrong one red, and the year cell carries an arrow toward the answer. A row above the grid keeps every detail you have pinned down so far. You have fifteen guesses. A hint opens after five of them, and a Give Up button shows the answer.
Beside the daily there is an Unlimited Mode with no guess limit, a page listing every character, a suggestion form for new shows, and a recent changes page. The maker added a table of all your guesses to the win and loss screens in October 2026 and fixed the unlimited mode at the same time. An optional free account adds a profile with a daily streak, wins, match history and a friends list. The daily plays without one.
The game is free and carries Google ads around the board, more of them at phone size. It suits people who grew up on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Disney shows and like attribute guessing games about characters.
How to play CartoonGuessr
- Open the page in Daily Mode to take on the day's mystery character.
- Type a cartoon character's name, choose it from the suggestion list and press Guess.
- Read the row it adds. Green cells match the answer and red cells do not, and the year arrow points to older or newer shows.
- Check the top row, which keeps every detail you have matched so far.
- Find the character within fifteen guesses. A hint opens after five guesses if you are stuck.
Tips
- Start with a well known lead such as SpongeBob or Bart Simpson to place the network and era quickly.
- Follow the year arrow before chasing the network. It cuts the roster faster.
- An airing match of No rules out every show still making episodes.
- Keep the hint for when only a few shows fit the clues.
