Daily Calendar Puzzle is a browser version of the wooden calendar puzzle. You fit eight polyomino pieces onto a 43-cell board of months and days so that the only two cells left open are today's date. A multiplayer arena also starts a shared board every five minutes.
About Daily Calendar Puzzle
The calendar puzzle is a packing puzzle: a board laid out with the twelve months and the days 1 to 31, and eight flat pieces made of joined squares. Every day has a different target, because the two cells you must leave uncovered are that day's month and day. Daily Calendar Puzzle puts it in the browser, opening on today's date with a timer running.
You drag and turn the pieces onto the board. Every date has at least one solution, and the site keeps exact solutions for all 366 dates for anyone stuck on a physical copy. Casual, Expert and Random settings sit beside the daily board, with Hint and Joker buttons for help. Arrows beside the date open earlier days. An unassisted solve of today's board keeps your streak and counts on the daily, monthly and yearly leaderboards; using a hint marks the solve as assisted.
The arena is what sets it apart from other calendar puzzle sites: every five minutes a new round starts with the same board and pieces for everyone online, and the fastest solve tops that round's leaderboard.
A Learn section explains the technique, covering the geometry of the pieces, parity, openings and common traps. It is free, needs no account and runs in any browser.
How to play Daily Calendar Puzzle
- Open the site: the board shows today's month and day as the cells to leave open.
- Drag a piece onto the board and rotate or flip it to fit.
- Place all eight pieces without covering today's month or day.
- Use Hint or Joker if you are stuck, or clear and start again.
- Try the arena to race other players on a shared board.

Tips
- Place the awkward pieces first, near corners and the edge cutouts.
- Watch for single cells boxed in by pieces: they can never be filled.
- Count cells in each open region: a region that is not a multiple of the remaining piece sizes cannot be filled.
