Blindle: Daily Word Puzzle
Rate itGuess the day's five-letter word when clues tell you how many letters are right, never which.
on masten.app

Blindle is a daily word puzzle for iPhone and Android that works like Wordle without the coloured tiles. After each guess you are told how many letters are in the right place, how many are in the word but misplaced, and how many are not in it at all, but never which ones. Everyone gets the same word each day, and you have eight guesses.
About Blindle: Daily Word Puzzle
Each guess gets three numbers beside it: a green count for letters in the right spot, a yellow count for letters in the word but elsewhere, and a grey count for letters that are not there. A guess of STEAM scoring 2, 0 and 3 says two of its letters sit where they belong, though not which two. Working out which letters the counts refer to is the whole puzzle. You can tap any letter in a past guess to colour it green, yellow or grey yourself as a private note, and up to three hints are there if you are stuck. Fewer guesses earn more points.
The daily word is the same for the whole world in each language, and after playing you can compare your solve rate and guesses with all players that day. The stats panel shows games played, win percentage, current and longest streak and a spread of solves across the eight guesses. Monthly seasons rank players from Bronze to Diamond. Once a week a harder boss word appears, and on it only your first try counts. You can also send a friend a word of your own and compare results, and Practice mode gives unlimited extra words.
Blindle is made by MASTEN AB in Sweden and came to the App Store in July 2026. The October 2026 update gave it a warmer autumn look with falling leaves on a solve, and it follows the phone's light or dark mode. Its Google Play listing names ten languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish, each with its own daily word and stats. It is free with ads and needs no account.
It suits players who find Wordle too easy and like the code-breaking side of Mastermind. Because no tile ever lights up, a single changed letter between two guesses is often the best clue you get.
How to play Blindle: Daily Word Puzzle

- Change one or two letters at a time to see how the counts move.
- Find the word within eight guesses. Fewer guesses score more points.

Tips
- A guess that scores all grey is useful. It removes five letters at once.
- Swap a single letter between guesses. If a count changes, you know that letter was responsible.
- Open with words that share no letters, such as COMES then STEAM, to cover the alphabet quickly.
- Save the hints for the last guesses, where knowing one position can settle the word.
- On the weekly boss word only the first try counts, so think longer before each guess.
