on ponderclub.co

Wordie is Ponder Club's daily five-letter word guess. Everyone gets the same secret word each day and six tries, with each letter coloured to show whether it is in the right spot, in the word elsewhere, or absent. Your score is the number of guesses, set against a par of four, and a dated archive and a leaderboard bring players back.
About Wordie
Wordie is a free daily word game on Ponder Club, a puzzle site from Flying Comet Games that also hosts a mini crossword, Slideways, Code Breaker and other daily games. Each day there is one secret five-letter word, the same for every player, dated by the Pacific Time day.
You type a five-letter word and press Enter. Each letter of your guess is coloured: one colour for a letter in the right place, another for a letter that is in the word but elsewhere, and grey for a letter that is not in it. The on-screen keyboard keeps the same colours, so you can see at a glance which letters are left. You have six rows to find the word.
What sets Wordie apart from a plain Wordle copy is small but useful. A row of dots above the board counts your guesses against a par of four, and your score and best are shown at the top. If you run out of rows you can choose to keep guessing until you crack the word, or reveal it. Each day's word has a comments page, there is a leaderboard, and the calendar icon opens an archive of past days. The on-screen keyboard follows your own layout, QWERTY, AZERTY or QWERTZ.
The daily plays without an account. Ponder Club is supported by ads and sells a one-time Lifetime Ad-Free purchase; while playing, a Support us bar with that offer sits under the board. It works the same in a phone browser and on a desktop, and suits anyone who wants a quick daily Wordle-style word with a score to beat.

Tips
- Start with a word rich in common letters such as CRANE or SLATE to learn the most from the first row.
- Keep letters already placed in their spots and move misplaced letters to new positions on every guess.
- Aim for par: four guesses is the average Ponder Club reports, so finishing in three is a good day.
- If six rows are not enough, keep guessing instead of revealing; working the word out yourself teaches more than seeing it.
