Wordform is a free Wordle-style browser game: guess the day's hidden five-letter word in six tries, with coloured tiles telling you which letters are right. Daily mode gives everyone the same word, Random mode gives as many extra words as you want, and you can share your result as an emoji grid.
About Wordform
Wordform is a small daily word puzzle by HydroEngineer, a civil engineer who makes games and simulations on the side. It runs on Board Gaming Hub, the maker's own site, and on itch.io, where it was last updated in September 2026. The page is a single-file game that needs no account. The Board Gaming Hub page loads Google AdSense, while the itch.io build says it has no ads.
The rules are the familiar ones. You have six guesses to find a hidden five-letter word. After each guess the tiles turn green for a letter in the right spot, gold for a letter that is in the word somewhere else, and dark for a letter not in it at all. Guesses are checked against a dictionary of about 14,855 words. An on-screen keyboard marks the letters you have used, and the physical keyboard works too.
Daily mode gives every player the same word each day, and it changes at midnight UTC. When a daily game ends, the game offers to share your result as a numbered grid of coloured squares. Random mode offers unlimited extra words for practice and does not touch your stats. The game keeps your streak, wins and games played in the browser, and a reload brings back today's guesses. Board Gaming Hub also has a daily word ladder called Drift.
The daily words are taken in order from a list of 984 common words, so a word will not come back for well over two years. It suits anyone who wants a plain, quick Wordle-style puzzle without sign-ups. It is free to play in the browser. On itch.io a standalone download can be bought for 1 dollar to support the maker.
How to play Wordform

- Use the clues to narrow down the word and find it within six guesses.
- When the daily ends, accept the share prompt or press Share to copy your result as an emoji grid.
