Fox News Word Search on 26 October 2026: the Cybersecurity Awareness Month grid with MALWARE found down the first column, the word list and the unlisted clue hint

Fox News's Word Search is a free daily puzzle in the Fox News games player. Each day brings a themed 12 by 12 grid with eight words on a list and one more that only a clue points to. You mark a word by tapping its first and last letters.

About Word Search (Fox News)

The Word Search is one of the free daily puzzles on Fox News's games page, next to its Mini Crossword, Daily Crossword, 5 Across and Sudoku. Until October 2026 it ran in an embedded player from King Features. Since 18 October 2026 it runs in Fox's own games player, with one dated edition for each day.

Every puzzle has a theme printed above the grid. On 26 October 2026 it was Cybersecurity Awareness Month, with ANTIVIRUS, BREACH, ENCRYPTION, FIREWALL, HACKER, MALWARE, PASSWORD and PHISHING on the list. Words run across, down or diagonally, and some read backwards. A ninth word has no place on the list. Its only trace is the Unlisted Clue Hint under the title, which that day read "Malicious software that locks files and demands payment". You need it to finish.

You do not trace each word. You tap its first letter and then its last, and the word is crossed off when the pair is right. A light bulb at the top holds one hint, and the question mark opens the rules. The games hub keeps a day streak and has a date picker for earlier editions.

The puzzle is free and needs no sign-in, though the Fox News site around it carries ads. It suits anyone who wants a calm themed puzzle of a few minutes.

How to play Word Search (Fox News)

  1. Open the Word Search on Fox News's games page and read the day's theme above the grid.
  2. Read the Unlisted Clue Hint under the theme. It points to one word that is not on the list.
  3. Tap the first letter of a word in the grid, then tap its last letter. Dragging from one to the other also works.
  4. Look across, down and diagonally, and read backwards too.
  5. Find all eight listed words and the unlisted one to finish the puzzle.

Tips

  • Work out the unlisted word from its clue before you start. On a theme day it often fits the theme closely.
  • Check the first and last rows and columns early. Long words often run along an edge.
  • Save the hint in the light bulb for the last word you cannot see.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. The puzzle is free and needs no account, and the Fox News page around it shows ads.

Who makes it?

Fox News runs it in its own games player. Until October 2026 the puzzle came from King Features.

What is the unlisted word?

Each grid hides one word that is not on the list. A clue under the title is the only pointer to it, and you need it to finish.

Can I play earlier days?

Yes. Dated editions go back to 18 October 2026, and the games page has a date picker to open them.
