Word Search Colorful is a long-running word search app where you swipe across a letter grid to find hidden words. Each day brings four new puzzles and a Daily Leaderboard to compare with other players, alongside many other modes such as Blitz, Zen and Mosaic.
About Word Search Colorful
Word Search Colorful is a word search game for phones and tablets. A grid of letters hides a list of words running across, down or diagonally, forwards or backwards, and you swipe over each one to highlight it in colour.
It is made by Wixot and has been on the App Store since 2012. It is still updated: the latest version came out in September 2026, and an earlier one fixed a bug in the daily puzzle.
The daily part is the set of four new puzzles each day and the Daily Leaderboard, where you compete with players around the world on that day's puzzles. Outside the daily, the app has Classic, Blitz, Marathon, Zen, Mosaic, Free Draw, Story and multiplayer modes, more than 50 word categories and four difficulty levels, plus endless freshly generated puzzles.
Night mode and a colourblind mode make long sessions easier, and coins earned in play pay for hints. It is free with ads; a Pro subscription removes them. It can be played in English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. It suits anyone who likes a relaxed word search with a light daily competitive edge.
How to play Word Search Colorful
- Open Word Search Colorful and go to the daily puzzles.
- Read the list of words to find beside the grid.
- Swipe across letters in a straight line, in any of eight directions, to mark a word.
- Find every word on the list to finish the puzzle.
- Play all four daily puzzles and check the Daily Leaderboard.

Tips
- Scan for rare letters such as Q, Z or X first; they narrow down where long words are.
- Remember that words can run backwards and diagonally.
- Use coins for a hint only when one word is holding up a fast finish.
