WNBA Wordle (Draft Challenger)

WNBA Wordle is part of Draft Challenger, a sports site that runs daily player boards for several leagues beside its all-time draft game. Each day there is one hidden WNBA player on each of two boards and a fixed number of guesses.

On the Wordle board you type a player's name and press Guess, and the row compares them with the answer on team, position, height, jersey number, country and seasons. Each tile shows a match, a close miss or a miss, and arrows on height, number and seasons point toward the answer. Eight names is the limit.

Classic is harder. The answer comes from the league's history, which starts in 1997, and the board opens with the era, how many teams the player played for and a worked example row. After four misses the team unlocks, and after seven another fact, with the option to open the answer. Each guess is set against the answer's signature season: position, season and team first, then points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks and field goal percentage, coloured exact, close, similar or far, with arrows on the numbers.

Both boards change at midnight US Eastern time, keep their own streaks on your device and end with a result you can share. There are no pictures of players, only the clues. It suits fans who follow WNBA rosters closely and those who remember the league's earlier years.
