Warmle
Rate itWordle where yellow means close in the alphabet, not elsewhere in the word.
on warmle.org

Warmle turns Wordle's yellow into warmer and colder. Each letter of your guess turns green if it is right, yellow if it is within three letters of the right one in the alphabet, and grey if it is further away. You get five tries at the day's five-letter word, starting from a clue row everyone shares.
About Warmle
Warmle looks like Wordle at first: rows of five tiles and a keyboard laid out from A to Z. The difference is what the colours mean. Green is the right letter in that spot. Yellow means the letter in that spot is wrong but close, within three letters alphabetically, so a yellow M means the answer there is somewhere from J to P. Grey means it is more than three away. A thermometer under the keyboard, from Freezing up to Boiling, shows how many possible answers your clues have ruled out.
Each day's puzzle is a five-letter word, the same for every player, and you have five tries. The first row comes already filled with a random clue, the same for everyone that day; on Day 1665 it was JAXUH with the J and the A in yellow. Because yellow says nothing about other positions, every spot is its own small search along the alphabet.
Once you finish, bonus games called Super Warmle and Super Warmle PLUS narrow yellow to two and then one letter. An Unlimited mode gives more words, the arrow beside the day number and a calendar take you back to earlier days, and after solving you can watch other players' solutions live or as replays. The game credits Mike Elliott for the design, with code by keldor (Kelly Dornhaus), who also makes Xordle and Fibble. There are no ads and no sign-up.

Tips
- Treat each spot as a number line: a yellow leaves a range of up to six letters, a grey rules out seven.
- Choose guesses whose letters sit far from what the clue row already covered, so each try tests new parts of the alphabet.
- Watch the thermometer: a jump toward Boiling means your clues have cut the list of possible words sharply.
- Try Super Warmle after the daily: with a narrower yellow, each yellow tells you more.
