Vault of the Void card battle: three enemies with their intents above, the player's hand of cards below and a Threat counter in the middle

Vault of the Void is a roguelike deckbuilder from Spider Nest Games that keeps luck low: you see the enemies ahead, can rebuild your 20-card deck before any fight and discard cards for energy. Its Daily Draft gives every player the same seeded run, starting from the same 22-card booster, ranked on a leaderboard for that day.

About Vault of the Void

Vault of the Void is by Spider Nest Games, an Australian studio started by Josh Bruce. It came out on Steam for Windows in October 2022. Phones followed in June 2024 and Nintendo Switch in April 2025. A cross save carries your progress from one platform to another. The game aims to put control in the player's hands rather than the dice. You preview which enemies you will face before each encounter and can change your deck at any point of a run, as long as it holds 20 cards when a fight starts.

There are four classes in the base game, each with its own way to play, and a fifth, the summoner Weaver, came as paid DLC in October 2025. The store counts more than 440 cards, over 320 artifacts and Void Stones that you socket into cards to add abilities. Combat is quick. You can purge unwanted cards for extra energy, and enemy attacks build a Threat stack that hits you at the end of your next turn unless you block it, so you always know how much damage is coming.

The Daily Draft is the daily mode, a shorter run of about half an hour. It runs on a worldwide seed, so everyone opens the same booster of 22 cards and finds the same rewards along the way. You build a deck from it and fight through the run. Your score goes to that day's leaderboard. Extra damage on a killing blow counts as Overkill toward the score. The game flags edited card files as modded, which keeps altered runs off the board.

Difficulty goes from gentle up to Impossible+. It suits deckbuilder fans who dislike losing to bad luck, and players who want a daily run where the draft decides the ranking.

Tips

  • Use the enemy preview to shape your deck before each fight.
  • Purge weak cards for energy rather than playing them.
  • Watch your Threat stack and block before it becomes lethal.
  • Finish fights with a big hit when you can. Overkill damage adds to the Daily Draft score.

Questions

Is there a daily mode?

Yes. The Daily Draft is one run a day on a worldwide seed, with its own leaderboard.

Does everyone get the same Daily Draft?

How many classes are there?

Four in the base game, plus the Weaver, a summoner class sold as DLC since October 2025.
