Undersung
Rate itName a song with today's word in its lyrics: the less it is played, the more it scores.
on undersung.app

Undersung gives one word a day, such as page, and asks for a real song whose lyrics contain it. The less the song is played on Deezer, the more points it earns, from 5 to 100, and a song with the word only in its title earns half. You get two tries, and a deep cut beats a global hit.
About Undersung
Undersung is a daily music challenge, made first in French and playable in English and Spanish as well. Each numbered challenge shows one word in large type, and you think of a real song whose lyrics include it. Challenge number one went out on 10 July 2026, and a new word comes each day at midnight UTC. Each language has its own word and its own leaderboard, since play counts depend so much on a song's language.
You search by title or artist, pick the song from the list and submit it. The scoring turns the usual music quiz around: points come from how rarely the song is played on Deezer, from 5 for a huge hit to 100 for something almost nobody streams. The lyrics are checked through Genius; a song whose word appears only in its title is accepted at once but scores half. You have two tries a day, and an attempt the game cannot verify is not counted against you. After you play, the result card shows your points and your place on that challenge, plays a preview of the song and gives you a result to share.
The last five days stay playable from a row of dates under the board, and catching one up repairs your streak. Beside the daily there is Target, where the same word comes with a number between 6 and 95 and you score by how close your song's points land to it, Free Play for practice words, a timed Sprint mode, the rankings, statistics and a set of badges. Points are tied to an anonymous ID kept in your browser, so no account is needed.
It suits listeners with large record collections and anyone who knows the words to songs most people have never heard.

Tips
- Skip the obvious hit: album tracks, B-sides and smaller artists earn far more.
- Avoid songs with the word in the title, since they only count half.
- Pick the studio version rather than a remix or live take, so Genius can find its lyrics.
- You have two tries, so make sure the word is really in the lyrics before you submit.
