Timdle Math on 20 October 2026: 616/(7x2) worth 44 and 17+30 worth 47 placed on the line, with the next card (1+6)^2 waiting to be placed

Timdle Math is the number version of the Timdle ordering game. One expression starts on a line, and you drop each new card on the smaller or larger side until all nine are in order. You only need to judge which value is bigger, not work it out exactly.

About Timdle Math

Timdle Math is a daily mental math puzzle from Timdle, the site best known for its timeline game. Instead of historical events, the cards carry math expressions: powers, square roots, fractions and sums that test your order of operations.

Each day you get nine expressions. One is already on the line to start, with its value shown. The next card appears below, and you drag it onto the line or tap the circle on the smaller or larger side to place it. You keep placing cards one at a time until all eight remaining expressions are slotted in from smallest to largest. Each card is worth points and every wrong placement costs one, so the score rewards getting it right first time, and playing each day builds a streak.

You are not asked for exact answers. The puzzle is about number sense, such as whether the square root of 10 is bigger than pi, or where a fraction sits next to a small power. A new set appears at midnight in your own time zone.

It takes a couple of minutes, which makes it a quick warm-up for students, teachers and anyone who likes estimating. Timdle also runs other daily sorting games, including the original timeline and a music edition.

The site is made by one person and says it has no ads. The daily is free with no account; a Timdle+ subscription adds an archive and statistics, mostly for the timeline games.

Tips

  • Round roots to the nearest perfect square: the square root of 692 is a little over 26.
  • Turn fractions into rough decimals before comparing them with whole numbers.
  • Do the multiplication before the addition when an expression mixes them.
