PuzzleMadness posts a new Suguru puzzle every day, the same grid for every player, at several sizes. Each region of n squares holds the numbers 1 to n once, and the same number may never be in two touching squares, even diagonally. Finished puzzles score points on the site's monthly and all-time leaderboards.
About Suguru (PuzzleMadness)
Suguru, also called Tectonic, is played on a grid split into irregular regions of one to six squares. A region of three squares holds 1, 2 and 3; a region of five holds 1 to 5. The only other rule is that equal numbers may never touch, not even at a corner. Some numbers are given at the start.
The daily page opens today's puzzle on its own, and its title carries the date (on 3 October 2026 it read "Daily Medium Suguru Puzzle for Saturday 3rd October 2026 (Easy)"). There is a separate dated puzzle for each size: Small, Medium, Large and Mixed. Past days stay in the archive, so a missed puzzle can be played later, and there is a print version and an image download of the grid. PuzzleMadness does not publish solutions: the site tells you when you have finished a grid correctly or made a mistake. Each completed puzzle adds to your total on the Suguru monthly and all-time leaderboards, where only your best score on any one puzzle counts.
Single-square regions are always 1. The largest number in a big region has few places to go, because it cannot appear in any smaller neighbouring region at all. The no-touching rule then removes candidates in a wide ring around each placed number.
PuzzleMadness is a British puzzle site with dozens of daily puzzle types in the browser, from many sudoku variants to logic grids such as Nurikabe, Hashi and Slitherlink. It is free to play and carries ads. A free account keeps track of the puzzles you have finished and puts your name on the leaderboards, and the badges next to usernames mark how many puzzles a player has completed.
How to play Suguru (PuzzleMadness)
- Open the day's Suguru page and choose Small, Medium, Large or Mixed. Mixed is a fourth grid of its own.
- Write 1 in any single-square region.
- Fill each region with 1 up to its size, so no two touching squares hold the same number.
- Complete every region; the site tells you when the grid is correct.

Tips
- Place the largest number of each big region first; smaller regions nearby cannot hold it.
- A placed number blocks all eight squares around it for that number.
- Two-square regions next to each other often settle into a fixed 1-2 pattern.
Questions
Is Suguru the same as Tectonic?

Yes. You can play without an account; the site shows ads. A free account records which puzzles you have finished and enters your scores on the leaderboards.
Where can I find the answers?

Can I play earlier Suguru puzzles?
Yes, older puzzles are in the archive, and puzzles completed on any day count toward that month's leaderboard.
