Sudoku Mini is the Puzzle Society's pocket-size sudoku: a 6x6 grid of six 2x3 boxes, in which every row, column and box holds the digits 1 to 6 once. A new one comes each day on GoComics, with a subscription, sized for a coffee break.
About Sudoku Mini (Puzzle Society)
Sudoku Mini is one of five sudoku games in the Puzzle Society set on GoComics from Andrews McMeel Universal, beside the classic daily sudoku, Sudoku Mega, Sudoku X and Sudoku X Mini. The Puzzle Society describes it as a pocket-size 6x6 sudoku to sneak in during a lunch or coffee break.
The rules are the classic ones on a smaller board. The grid has six rows and six columns, split into six boxes of two rows by three columns, and each row, column and box must hold the digits 1 to 6 exactly once. With only 36 squares and several digits given, it usually takes a few minutes.
It makes a gentle way into sudoku for new players and a quick warm-up for regular ones before a full 9x9 grid. Each day brings one grid, the same for every player.
Sudoku Mini is included with a GoComics subscription. Its sibling Sudoku X Mini adds one more rule on the same size of grid.
How to play Sudoku Mini (Puzzle Society)
- Open Sudoku Mini on the GoComics puzzles page and sign in with a GoComics subscription.
- Look at the 6x6 grid and its six 2x3 boxes, with some digits given.
- Fill each empty square with a digit from 1 to 6.
- Make sure no digit repeats in any row, column or box, until the grid is full.
Tips
- Look for a row or column with four or five digits given: the missing ones fall in at once.
- Each 2x3 box spans two rows: a digit placed in one row of a box rules it out of the other.
- Pencil marks are rarely needed here; if you are stuck, check each box for a digit with only one place.
