Today's Sports Reveal NFL board on 22 Oct 2026: Guess The Player for a defensive end, 100 points and 5 guesses left, hidden team tiles at -20, -15 and -10 and hidden career stat tiles

Sports Reveal is a daily athlete guessing game from the makers of Movie Grid. Each day there is a hidden NFL player and a hidden NBA player; you see the position and choose which facts to reveal, from teams and career stats to height, college and draft year. You start with 100 points and have five guesses.

About Sports Reveal

Sports Reveal comes from Sam Shulman and Alex Nunan, who also make the film games Movie Grid and Movie Reveal. It applies the Movie Reveal idea to athletes: each day's player is hidden behind a board of facts, and you decide how much to uncover before you guess.

There are two daily puzzles, one for the NFL and one for the NBA. The board starts with the player's position. The rest of the facts are hidden: up to three teams, ordered by games played; career stats suited to the position, three for an NFL player (sacks, tackles for loss and forced fumbles for a defensive end) and six per-game numbers for an NBA player; and details like height, weight, age, career length, college, Pro Bowl count (All-Star count in the NBA puzzle), draft position and draft year.

You begin with 100 points, and revealing information lowers what you can score, so the skill is in picking the clues that narrow things most. Each fact has its own price, from 2 or 3 points for a stat to 20 for the first team, and making a guess costs nothing. You have five guesses, and you can give up if you are stuck. The puzzles get harder as the week goes on, from Monday to Sunday. Player stats are kept up to date during the season, and player photos come from Wikimedia Commons.

The site also links to the makers' movie games, so it suits people who play Movie Grid or Movie Reveal and want the same format for sports.

When you finish, the game shows your score, your win streak and how your score ranks against other players that day, with a result you can copy or post to Twitter.

How to play Sports Reveal

  1. Open Sports Reveal and choose the NFL or NBA puzzle.
  2. Read the player's position, shown free at the top of the board.
  3. Reveal the facts you think will help most: teams, career stats or details. Each one costs the points shown on its tile.
  4. Type a player's name in the search bar and pick him from the list to guess; guessing costs no points, but you have five guesses.
  5. Name the player with as many of your 100 points left as you can, then copy your result and try the other league.

Tips

  • Reveal the first team before anything else: it narrows the field more than any single stat.
  • Career length and draft year cost only a few points together and place a player in an era quickly.
  • For defensive players, sacks and forced fumbles separate pass rushers from coverage players.
  • College costs nearly as much as the first team: reveal it last.
  • Expect a better-known player early in the week: the puzzles get harder toward Sunday.

Questions

How many puzzles are there each day?

Two: one NFL player and one NBA player.

How many guesses do I get?

Five per puzzle. You start with 100 points, revealing a fact costs points and guessing does not.

What can I reveal?

Up to three teams ordered by games played, career stats for the player's position, and details such as height, weight, age, career length, college, Pro Bowl or All-Star count and draft position and year.

When does a new puzzle come out?

The site dates its puzzles by US Eastern time, so a new pair arrives at midnight in New York. The puzzles get harder as the week goes from Monday to Sunday.

Does Sports Reveal have ads?

Yes. The game is free with no account, and the page carries display ads in a banner and side rails around the board.

Who makes Sports Reveal?

Sam Shulman and Alex Nunan, the makers of Movie Grid.
