Sortl is Stoop's daily liquid sort puzzle. Each day brings one numbered board of test tubes stacked with coloured layers and one empty tube to work with. You may only pour onto a matching colour or into an empty tube, and you get one attempt to sort every tube in as few moves as the day's par.
About Sortl
Sortl is a free daily liquid sort puzzle from Stoop, a small set of browser games by one maker that also includes FlagGuessr, Palette and Bloom. Puzzle #1 came out on 1 June 2026. The day's board is built from the date in UTC, so a new numbered puzzle arrives at midnight UTC and every player gets the same one.
The board is a row of test tubes, each holding four layers of coloured liquid, plus an empty tube. You click a tube to pick up its top layer and click another to pour it. A layer may only land on the same colour or in an empty tube, and a tube never takes more than it holds. When several layers of one colour sit together at the top, they pour as a single move. The puzzle is solved when every tube holds one colour or is empty.
Scoring is against par, the fewest moves the day's board needs. Matching or beating par earns a Flawless Sort. One to three over is a Clean Sort, four to eight a Decent Sort, and nine or more a Messy Sort. The first undo is free and each later one adds a move to your count. There is a restart, but no second try at the daily once it is done. A colour-blind button labels the layers, and hovering a tube lists its colours by name.
Away from the daily, Levels mode has 240 boards at your own pace in four kinds. Classic plays like the daily, Split adds two-colour layers and locked tubes, Overflow mixes tube sizes, and Blind Stack hides everything below the top layer. Your streak and stats stay in your browser with no account, and the result can be shared as a link.
It suits players of tube and ball sorting games who want one careful board a day with a par to aim at.
How to play Sortl
- Open Sortl and read the day's tubes. Only the top layer of each tube can move.
- Click a tube to pick up its top layer, then click another tube to pour it there.
- Pour only onto the same colour or into an empty tube. A full tube takes nothing more.
- Keep going until every tube holds a single colour or is empty.
- Aim for par or fewer moves for a Flawless Sort, then share your result if you like.

Tips
- Start with tubes that are one or two pours from being sorted.
- Keep the empty tube free for as long as you can. It is your only spare room.
- Pour runs of the same colour together to save moves.
- Use your one free undo for a real mistake, since every undo after it costs a move.
