Slideways is a daily word puzzle from Ponder Club. Five words stand side by side as columns, and you slide each one up or down so the highlighted row spells a new word across. Each board hides a set number of words to find, with hint and shuffle buttons and a dated archive.
About Slideways
Slideways is a free daily word game from Ponder Club. Each day presents one board, the same for every player, made of five words standing vertically next to one another. On 25 October 2026 they were BOSSES, APPEAR, FAILED, MUGGER and IRATER, and the board held 15 five-letter words to find across the middle.
Across the middle runs a highlighted row. You drag any word column up or down, or tap one of its letters, to move that letter into the highlighted row. By choosing which letter of each column sits in the row, you spell a new word across it, then press Check to submit it. A progress bar and a Found Words counter show how many of the day's words you have found, and a book button beside a found word opens its definition.
Hint and Shuffle buttons help when you are stuck, and a dated archive, comments and a leaderboard sit alongside the daily board. This is the newer version of Slideways; the original, where you drag words sideways instead, is still on the site. The daily is free and needs no account. The site shows a banner ad along the bottom of the screen, and Ponder Club sells a one-time ad-free purchase that removes ads.
It suits players who like word puzzles with a sliding, spatial twist.
How to play Slideways
- Look at the five word columns standing side by side.
- Drag a column up or down, or tap one of its letters, to move that letter into the highlighted row.
- Set one letter from each column in the row so it spells a word across.
- Press Check to submit the word.
- Keep finding words until the Found Words counter is full.
