Simpsle mid-game: three guesses (Homer Simpson, Milhouse Van Houten, Nelson Muntz) with tick, cross and arrow boxes for gender, age, relation and appearances, three rows left

Simpsle is a free daily guessing game about The Simpsons. Each day there is one hidden character, the same for everyone, and you have six guesses. Every guess is compared with the answer in four columns: same gender or not, older or younger, related or not, and more or fewer appearances on the show.

About Simpsle

Simpsle takes the daily guessing format and points it at Springfield. One character from The Simpsons is hidden each day, and every player is looking for the same one. A new character arrives at midnight GMT, and each day's puzzle carries a number: 26 October 2026 was #1688, which puts the first one in March 2022. The answer is drawn from a roster of 121 characters, the family and the town's regulars, so names come round again over the months.

You type a name into the guess box and pick from the list of characters. Each guess fills one of six yellow rows with four small boxes, marked with a tick, a cross or an up or down arrow. The first says whether the hidden character is the same gender as your guess. The second says whether they are older, younger or about the same age. The third says whether the two are related, counting parents and grandparents, children, siblings, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, husbands and wives, ex-spouses and in-laws. The last says whether the hidden character has had more, fewer or a similar number of appearances on the show.

The family clue is what sets it apart from most character guessers: a guess from the right household can close in on the answer even when the other clues miss. The appearances clue rewards knowing the show's long tail of side characters, not just the family at its centre.

The game runs in the browser with no account, keeps your played count, win rate, streaks and guess distribution on your device, and lets you copy a result to share. It suits anyone who knows the show well, from the Simpson family out to the regulars of Moe's.

How to play Simpsle

  1. Open Simpsle in your browser to get the day's hidden character.
  2. Type a character's name in the guess box, pick it from the list that drops down, then press Guess.
  3. Read the four boxes on your row: a tick or cross for gender, an arrow or tick for age, a tick or cross for family relation, and an arrow or tick for appearances.
  4. Use those clues to pick a better next guess.
  5. Name the hidden character within six guesses, then copy your result to share.

Tips

  • Start with a character from a big family, such as a Simpson or a Flanders, so the relation clue can tell you something.
  • Use the appearances clue to tell main characters from one-episode guests early.
  • After two or three guesses, narrow by age before guessing names at random.
