Ridella gives you one riddle a day with only its first line showing. Each wrong answer uncovers another line, and once all four are visible you have one last try. It plays in the browser and in the PuzPop app for iPhone and Android, with global stats, a leaderboard and an Unlimited mode.

About Ridella

Ridella is a daily riddle game. The day's riddle has four lines, and you start with only the first one readable; the rest sit blurred underneath. You type what you think the riddle describes and press Solve. A wrong guess reveals the next line, so the fewer lines you need, the better your result.

The riddles are written in rhyming lines that each describe the answer from a different angle, often with a pun or a double meaning, and the last line is usually the plainest clue. You get four tries in all, the last one made with the whole riddle in view.

The site keeps global stats for each day's riddle and a leaderboard, and has an Unlimited mode for more riddles, a blog, and two other games, Clique and Proximity, in its menu. It plays in the browser with no account.

Ridella is also one of the games in PuzPop, a free puzzle app from Ridella LLC on the App Store and Google Play, which the site announces in a box after you solve the day's riddle. The app puts Ridella beside Clique, Proximity, a crossword, a mini crossword and sudoku, with a streak for each.

How to play Ridella

Open ridella.xyz to see the first line of today's riddle.
Type the thing you think the riddle describes and press Solve.
If you are wrong, the next line of the riddle is revealed.
Keep guessing; once all four lines are showing you have one final try.
Check the global stats to see how many lines other players needed.

Tips

Read each line for double meanings: riddles often use a word in an unexpected sense.
Do not guess too early just to see the next line: a wrong guess costs one of your four tries.
The last line is usually the most direct, so keep a short list of candidates until then.
Practise in Unlimited mode to get used to the style.
