Rewordio four-letter board for 20 October 2026: clues Fall back, Place to moor, Take off and Old story above four scrambled tile columns and one empty column, Moves 0

Rewordio is a daily word puzzle played like a sorting game. Each day's letters come as scrambled stacks of tiles with one empty column, and a clue above the board names each word to build. Grabbing a tile lifts every tile above it, so you plan your moves and try to finish all the words in as few as you can, at four, five or six letters.

About Rewordio

Rewordio is a daily word puzzle that borrows the rules of a sorting game. The board is a row of columns of letter tiles, scrambled, plus one empty column, and above it a row of short clues, one for each word. On the four-letter board for 20 October 2026 the clues were Fall back, Place to moor, Take off and Old story, with the letters for REEL, COVE, FLEE and MYTH mixed through four columns.

The catch is in how tiles move. Grabbing a tile lifts it together with every tile above it, and you drop that stack on another column. A column can never hold more letters than the target word, so the empty column is your only room to work. A Moves counter counts every drop, and a column turns green once it spells one of the clued words.

There are three boards a day, a four-letter, a five-letter and a six-letter set, chosen from the Mode menu; the bigger sets have more words and more columns. Each board is the same for everyone that day, and a countdown on the win screen shows when the next set arrives. When you finish, the win screen lists your words and the move count, with a Share button that copies the result.

It plays in the browser on a desktop or a phone, by dragging or by tapping a tile and then a column, with no account and no ads. It suits players who like anagrams and also enjoy the planning of a ball or water sort puzzle: solving the clues is the first half, and getting the letters home in few moves is the second.

How to play Rewordio

  1. Pick a board from the Mode menu: four-letter, five-letter or six-letter.
  2. Read the clues above the board and work out the words they point to.
  3. Grab a tile to lift it and every tile above it, then drop the stack on another column; a column holds no more letters than the word.
  4. Use the empty column as working space while you sort the letters.
  5. Keep going until every column turns green with a clued word, using as few moves as you can, then share your move count.

Tips

  • Solve all the clues before the first move: the target words tell you which letters belong together.
  • Because a grab takes every tile above it, work out the order the letters must stack in before you move them.
  • Keep the empty column free for as long as you can; filling it early leaves you no room to work.
  • Start with the four-letter board to learn the stacking, then try the five- and six-letter sets.

Questions

What do I do in Rewordio?

Move stacks of letter tiles between columns until each column spells one of the words the clues point to, in as few moves as you can.

How do moves work?

Grabbing a tile lifts it and every tile above it, and you drop that stack on another column. A column can hold no more letters than the target word, and one column starts empty as working space.

How many puzzles are there each day?

Three: a four-letter, a five-letter and a six-letter board, each the same for every player that day.

When does the next puzzle come out?

At midnight; a countdown on the win screen shows the time left.

Is Rewordio free?

Yes. It plays in the browser with no account, and we saw no ads on it.
