ranked.FILM Daily Rank #58 for 21 October 2026, theme Anime: Your Name., Grave of the Fireflies, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro and A Silent Voice in a list to rank

ranked.FILM gives you one themed list of films a day to put in order, best to worst. When you submit, your order is compared with a benchmark built from critical and audience consensus, and you get a Hot Take score for how far you strayed.

About ranked.FILM

ranked.FILM is a daily film ranking game. Each numbered Daily Rank has a theme and a short brief, such as the roles of Leonardo DiCaprio or a set of anime films, and a short list of films with their year. You drag them, or use the arrows, into your order from #1 (best) down, and any film you have not seen can go below a line marked Haven't seen / can't rate.

There is no single right answer. When you submit, the game compares your list with its Benchmark rank, drawn from general critical and audience consensus, and turns the difference into a Hot Take score from 0 to 100: the higher the score, the further your ranking is from the consensus. Scores fall into named bands, from The Accountant at 0 to 10 up to The Iconoclast at 86 to 100. A third view, the r.f users rank, averages every player's submission for that day.

Every player gets the same list each day. A new Daily Rank arrives at 4:00 AM Eastern Time, with a countdown at the top of the page. The Past Ranks Archive shows earlier days with their community consensus order and average Hot Take, for looking back rather than replaying. Players can also send in suggestions for future lists.

It suits film fans who like arguing about favourites more than recalling trivia: it rewards knowing a filmography and having opinions about it, and the game has no ads and needs no account.

Tips

  • Read the brief: the theme says what you are ranking by, such as critical and audience acclaim, not just your favourite.
  • A low Hot Take score means you agreed with the consensus; aim high if you want to stand out instead.
  • Open the archive afterwards to see how the community ranked earlier lists and their average Hot Take.

Questions

Is there a right answer?

No. Your order is compared with a benchmark from critical and audience consensus, and the score measures how different your ranking is.

When does a new list come out?

At 4:00 AM Eastern Time; the page shows a countdown to the next Daily Rank.

Can I play past lists?

The archive shows earlier Daily Ranks with the community consensus order and average Hot Take, but they are there to look at rather than to play again.

Does it have ads or need an account?

No. The daily plays straight away with no sign-up, and we saw no ads on the page.
