on poople.io

Poople is a daily word ladder with one fixed destination. Each day gives a starting word, and you change one letter per step, always making a real four-letter word, until you reach POOP. Fewer steps is better, and the next day shows the shortest path.
About Poople
Poople is a daily word ladder with a single, fixed and faintly silly destination: every puzzle ends at POOP. Each day you are given a random four-letter starting word, the same for everyone, and you change one letter at a time to work your way toward POOP. Every intermediate word has to be a real four-letter word, and only one letter may change from the previous step.
The goal is to get there in as few steps as possible. There is no limit on how many words you use, but a shorter chain is a better result, and the game lets you look back at yesterday's answer to see the shortest path and compare. It keeps stats on your solves, with wins, extra guesses and a current and best streak, and a Copy results button to share your path.
According to the game, the idea came from the makers' dad, who invented it to keep the family occupied on road trips. It plays in the browser in a couple of minutes and is free, with ad banners beside and above the board.
It suits anyone who likes word ladders and classic change-a-letter puzzles, served with a bit of toilet humour.
How to play Poople
- Look at the day's starting four-letter word at the top of the grid.
- Change exactly one letter to make a new, real four-letter word, type it and press Enter. A letter that already matches POOP in its place turns brown.
- Repeat, changing one letter each step, so every word is a real word.
- Keep going until you reach POOP.
- Try to get there in as few steps as possible, then check yesterday's answer for the shortest path.

Tips
- Work backwards from POOP as well as forward from the start; meeting in the middle often finds a shorter chain.
- Aim to line up the double O and the P early, since the target is POOP.
- Keep a letter in place when you can: changing only what you must usually shortens the path.
- If you are stuck, try a different letter position; a less obvious word can open a quicker route.
