Polygonle
Rate itFind a six to eight letter word from a row of coloured shapes, with six guesses.
on polygonle.com

Polygonle is a daily word puzzle where the hidden word is drawn as a row of coloured shapes, one per letter, and repeated shapes mean repeated letters. You get six guesses, scored green, yellow and grey as in Wordle, and the shape pattern tells you where the doubled letters go. A shorter five-letter Mini comes out each day beside it.
About Polygonle
Polygonle takes the Wordle scoring and adds a picture of the answer's letter pattern. The daily word is six to eight letters long and always has at least one repeated letter. Each letter is shown as a coloured shape, so a word like PEOPLE appears as six shapes where the two P tiles match and the two E tiles match. On 21 October 2026, puzzle #1543 was eight shapes long, with two pairs side by side.
You may guess any real word of the right length, and the tiles turn green, yellow or grey. Repeated letters are handled carefully: if you guess a word with two Ds and the answer has only one, the second D shows grey, which tells you the count as well as the position. A cursor lets you fill single tiles, and holding shift fills every tile of one shape at once.
The puzzle changes at midnight in your own time zone, and everyone gets the same word that day. Beside the classic Daily there is a five-letter Mini, also numbered and shared, plus an unlimited mode, custom puzzles you can make for friends, a hint button on the keyboard, Hard mode (revealed letters must be reused), Expert mode (every guess must fit the shape pattern) and achievements. The archive of past puzzles is part of Polygonle+, a paid subscription that also removes the ads; the dailies themselves are free and need no account.
Polygonle is made by Polygonle LLC, whose second game, Quadragonle, uses the same shapes in a 4x4 codeword grid. It suits Wordle players who want a longer word and one more clue to reason with.
How to play Polygonle
- Open polygonle.com and look at the row of shapes: each shape is one letter, and shapes of the same colour and form are the same letter.
- Type any real word that fits the length, or click a tile to place letters with the cursor, and press Enter.
- Read the tiles: green is the right letter in the right place, yellow is in the word elsewhere, grey is not in the word (or not that many times).
- Use the shape pattern to place repeated letters and narrow your next guess.
- Find the word within six guesses, then try the five-letter Mini from the menu and share your results.

Tips
- Start with a filler word that covers common letters; the game's own tips page suggests words like almost, arouse, during and easier for six letters.
- Look first at which shapes repeat: a pair of matching shapes in positions 2 and 5 rules out many words before you type.
- Watch for grey tiles on a second copy of a letter: it means the answer has that letter only once.
- Turn on Expert mode only once you are comfortable; every guess must then match the shape pattern, which can be hard.
