Swap cards in a 5x5 grid to build poker hands across rows, columns and diagonals, with 15 swaps a day.

on yourlifechoices.com.au

Poker Puzzle's 21 October 2026 board: a 5x5 card grid with a joker, 15 of 15 swaps, a score of 400 and the Hands Formed panel listing pairs with the Ace bonus

Poker Puzzle on YourLifeChoices deals a 5x5 grid of playing cards each day. You have 15 swaps to rearrange them into poker hands along every row, column and diagonal, and every swap you leave unused is worth 100 bonus points. A daily bonus rule changes which hands score extra.

About Poker Puzzle (YourLifeChoices)

Poker Puzzle is one of the games on YourLifeChoices, the Australian site for older readers, and runs on its own page as well as in a frame on the site's games section. Each day brings a new 5x5 grid of cards, which includes a joker. Every row, every column and the two diagonals is scored as a poker hand, from a pair worth 50 points up to a royal flush worth 5,000, and small markers around the edge show which lines hold a pair or two pair right now.

You have 15 swaps. Each swap exchanges two cards, and the Hands Formed panel lists every hand you have made and what it scores. Unused swaps are worth 100 points each, so the game is a balance between chasing a straight or a flush and keeping swaps in hand. Each day also has a bonus rule, picked by the day of the month from eleven kinds: Ace Up Your Sleeve raises the value of every hand holding an ace by half, Four of a Kind Fever triples four of a kind, and Swap Savvy makes each unused swap worth 200. When you are done you submit your score, which is ranked from Beginner upward, and a stats page keeps your history on your device.

The deal is worked out from the date, so everyone playing that day sees the same cards, and you get one scored play a day. An interactive tutorial walks new players through the rules, and there is a full-screen view. The game is free and needs no account; ad slots sit above the board.

How to play Poker Puzzle (YourLifeChoices)

  1. Open the day's Poker Puzzle and read the day's bonus rule on the welcome card.
  2. Look at the 5x5 grid: each row, column and diagonal counts as a poker hand.
  3. Tap one card and then another to swap them, up to 15 swaps.
  4. Watch the Hands Formed panel and the score bar as you go.
  5. Press Submit Score when done; each unused swap adds 100 points (200 on a Swap Savvy day).

Tips

  • A card sits in a row, a column and sometimes a diagonal, so one swap can improve two or three hands at once.
  • Read the daily bonus first: on Ace Up Your Sleeve days a hand with an ace is worth half again, and a triple-points hand may beat several pairs.
  • Flushes (750) and full houses (1,200) beat a handful of pairs, but each swap you spend costs 100 bonus points.
  • Use the joker where it completes the biggest hand.

Questions

Is the grid the same for everyone?

Yes. The deal is worked out from the date, so every player gets the same 25 cards that day, and the bonus rule is the same too.

When does a new puzzle come out?

The deal changes at midnight UTC, which is mid-morning in eastern Australia. The game lets you play again after 11 PM by your own clock.

How many swaps do I get?

Fifteen. Each one you do not use is worth 100 points.

How are hands scored?

From a pair (50) through two pair, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house and four of a kind to a straight flush (3,000) and royal flush (5,000), plus the day's bonus.

Is any money involved?

No. It is a free puzzle with points only.

Where can I play it?

In the browser, on the YourLifeChoices games page or on the game's own page at poker-puzzle.yourlifechoices.com.au. It works on a phone and a desktop, with no account.
