Pathways is a free daily tile puzzle. You get a five by five grid with a few tiles already placed and stacks of path tiles in four kinds, straight runs, corners, T-intersections and dead ends, and must place and turn all of them so they cover the grid in one continuous pathway. Easy, medium and hard play the same board with fewer hints.
About Pathways
Pathways is a quiet browser puzzle with a new pathway every day. The board is a five by five grid, which can start with some tiles already in place (on 19 October 2026 two dead ends and two corners), and below it sit stacks of path tiles in four colours, one for each kind: straight runs, corners, T-intersections and dead-end tiles.
The rules are short. Place all the available tiles to cover the whole grid in one continuous pathway. Every tile must connect to the tiles next to it, the pathway can only have one entry into the grid and one exit out of it, and you may not close a loop. There is no single right answer: your pathway can differ from a friend's as long as it follows the rules.
Each day has one board, played at easy with two hints, medium with one or hard with none, plus a reset button and a streak that counts the days you finish. You drag a tile from its stack onto a square and tap it to turn it. A finished board is greeted with 'you found a pathway'. The maker also links to a Lego Ideas page proposing Pathways as a Lego set.
How to play Pathways
- Pick easy, medium or hard: the board is the same, only the number of hints changes.
- Drag a tile from one of the stacks onto a blank square of the grid.
- Tap a placed tile to turn it so its path joins its neighbours.
- Use every tile so the grid holds one continuous pathway with one entry, one exit and no loops.
- When the pathway is whole, share your result and come back tomorrow.

Tips
- Place the dead-end tiles early: they have to sit where the pathway can come back without closing a loop.
- T-intersections create branches, so each one needs a dead end or a return route nearby.
- Count the tiles of each kind against the empty squares before you start; the set always fills the grid exactly.
Questions
Is Pathways free?
Yes. It is free in the browser, with no account and no ads.
Is there only one solution?
No. The game says there is no one right answer; any pathway that follows the rules counts.
What do easy, medium and hard change?
They all play the same daily board. Easy gives you two hints, medium one and hard none.
When does a new pathway come out?
Each puzzle is tied to a date, and the game picks today's by your device's own date, so it changes at your local midnight.
