A dated 9x9 sudoku each day, with a streak and an archive of past boards.

on onlinesudoku.io

The OnlineSudoku.io daily 9x9 sudoku for 30 October 2026 in play: three digits placed, one wrong 4 in red, score 90 and 1 of 3 mistakes

OnlineSudoku.io's Daily Sudoku Challenge puts one classic 9x9 sudoku on the page each day, dated and the same for every player. You fill the grid in the browser with no download or sign-up, keep a daily streak going, and can pick any earlier date to play a board you missed.

About OnlineSudoku.io Daily Sudoku

OnlineSudoku.io is a free browser puzzle site built around sudoku, with killer, jigsaw, samurai and mini variants and a set of other logic games beside them. Its Daily Sudoku Challenge is one page with one classic 9x9 board for the day, titled with the date, so everyone who opens it that day solves the same grid.

The board sits in the middle of the page with a number pad, an undo button and a print button. Rows are lettered A to I and columns numbered 1 to 9. A timer runs while you solve, the score goes up by 30 for each correct digit, and a wrong digit shows in red and counts against a limit of three mistakes. Above the board a countdown shows how long until the next puzzle, which arrives at midnight UTC.

The level is set by the day of the week. Monday's board is easy, Tuesday and Thursday bring a medium grid, Wednesday and Friday a hard one, and the weekend boards are expert. The page's code builds each board from the date, so a reload brings back the same puzzle.

A date picker and a Previous day button load the board of any earlier day, and View Archive lists past puzzles. The page keeps your current streak and best time without an account, and a language menu switches the site into more than a dozen languages. The site is free and carries Google ads, with a slot beside the board and automatic ad units elsewhere on the page.

It suits players who want one plain classic sudoku a day that gets harder toward the weekend, and anyone who likes to catch up on days they missed.

How to play OnlineSudoku.io Daily Sudoku

  1. Open the Daily Sudoku page and press Play Today's Sudoku Challenge to jump to the dated board.
  2. Select an empty cell on the 9x9 grid.
  3. Enter a digit from 1 to 9 with the number pad or your keyboard. No row, column or 3x3 box may hold a digit twice.
  4. Watch the mistake counter. A wrong digit turns red and uses one of your three allowed mistakes, and Undo takes back a move.
  5. Fill every cell to finish the day's board and keep your streak. Previous day and the archive load earlier dates.

Tips

  • Start with the rows, columns and boxes that already have the most digits, where the fewest candidates remain.
  • Pencil in candidates before trying pairs and pointing techniques; the page's own guide lists naked pairs, hidden pairs and box-line reduction.
  • Only three mistakes are allowed, so place a digit once you can rule out every other candidate.
  • Expect the hardest boards on Saturday and Sunday. Monday's easy grid is the gentlest day to start a streak.
