on smashcut.games

On Location drops you into a real place where a film was shot, drawn as a pencil-sketch 360-degree view you can turn around in. You have five guesses to name the movie, and Reveal Detail cards trade a guess for an extra clue. It is one of Smashcut Games' free daily film games.
About On Location
On Location works like a street-view game for film fans. Each day's puzzle is a real filming location, shown as a 360-degree panorama in a sketched style, and you drag to look around: an elevated railway over a street corner, a row of shopfronts, a house on the edge of town.
The question is which film used it. You have five guesses, and each miss costs one. Below the view sit clue cards, each paid for in guesses, though never your last one: Reveal Detail cards (one guess each) turn the camera to a detail from the film somewhere in the scene, and an Establishing Shot card (two guesses) shows a caption naming where the story says you are.
Scoring rewards both accuracy and speed: naming the film earns 1,000 points plus 1,000 for every guess you still have, with a bonus for being quick. Puzzles are numbered and dated, and a countdown shows when the next one arrives at midnight UTC. There is a daily leaderboard, a lobby link to compare scores with friends, and tickets earned by playing open past days from the archive. It needs no account and shows no ads.
Smashcut Games runs several daily film games side by side, including Typecast (three actors, fifteen guesses), Headshots (name a film from five faces) and Underscore (name the film from its score).
How to play On Location
- Press Begin to open today's location.
- Drag the 360-degree view to look around the scene.
- Type the film you think was shot there and submit a guess.
- Spend a clue card if you need one: a Reveal Detail costs one guess, an Establishing Shot two, and a card never takes your last guess.
- Name the film within five guesses, faster for a higher score.

Tips
- Turn all the way around before guessing: the giveaway is often behind you.
- Signs, transit lines and architecture can place the city, which narrows the films a lot.
- Save the cards until a miss has ruled out your first idea.
