Nookle's Villagers mode: Tom Nook asks you to guess the villager he is thinking of, in front of an Animal Crossing campsite with a Start Game button

Nookle is a daily guessing game for Animal Crossing. In Villagers mode each guess compares gender, species, personality, hobby, favourite colours and styles and star sign with the day's villager; in Nookonomics you guess an item's buy price and are told how close you are. Posters and Songs modes are listed as coming soon.

About Nookle

Nookle is a daily set of guessing games themed around Nintendo's Animal Crossing series, playable free in the browser. It is a fan project and is not endorsed by Nintendo. Two modes are live, with more marked as coming soon, and each has one answer a day that is the same for everyone.

Villagers mode is the attribute guessing game: you name a villager and each guess is compared with the hidden one across gender, species, personality, hobby, favourite colours, favourite styles and star sign, with matches marked so you can narrow down who it is. Nookonomics is a price game: you are shown an item and guess its buy price, and the game tells you how close your figure is so you can zero in over a few tries.

The home screen also lists Posters and Songs modes as coming soon, and points to the maker's other games such as Isaacle. There is a help page, a stats or history view and a countdown to the next puzzle. The puzzles reset at midnight Pacific time, and the site carries ads.

It suits Animal Crossing players who know their villagers and shop prices, and fans of attribute guessing games who want an Animal Crossing flavour.

How to play Nookle

  1. Open Nookle and choose a mode: Villagers or Nookonomics.
  2. In Villagers mode, type a villager and read how each guess compares on species, personality, hobby, colours, styles, gender and star sign.
  3. Use the matching and non-matching traits to narrow your next guess until you find the day's villager.
  4. In Nookonomics mode, look at the item and guess its buy price; the game tells you how close you are so you can adjust.
  5. Come back each day for a new villager and item, and keep your streak going.

Tips

  • In Villagers mode, start with a villager whose species and personality you know to split the field quickly.
  • Favourite colours and styles often match across several villagers, so lean on species and star sign to narrow further.
  • In Nookonomics, make a round first guess, then halve the gap based on whether you are told higher or lower.
  • Build a daily streak by playing both live modes each day.
  • If you are stuck in Villagers mode, the species hint opens after four guesses and the catchphrase after eight.
