NBA Wordle (Draft Challenger)

NBA Wordle is part of Draft Challenger, a sports site that runs daily player boards for several leagues beside its all-time draft game. Its own line is one player, follow the clues: a hidden player a day and a fixed number of guesses.

On the Wordle board you type a player's name, pick it from the list and lock in a guess. The row compares your player with the answer on team, conference, division, position, height, age and jersey number, each tile marked as a match, close or a miss, with arrows on the numbers. Eight names is the limit.

Classic is harder. The answer can come from any era since the league began in 1947, and the board opens with the era, the number of honours the player won and a free example row. After four misses the team clue unlocks, and after seven another fact, with the option to reveal the answer. Each guess is set against the answer's real signature season: position, season and team, then points, rebounds and assists per game, field goal and free throw percentage and games played, with arrows toward the right numbers.

Both boards change at midnight US Eastern time, keep separate streaks on your device and end with a result you can share. No account is needed to play. Below the boards the same page runs an all-time NBA draft you can spin as often as you like. It suits fans who know rosters and box scores.
