Mazetangle is a daily maze game made of rectangles. You are the red tile and must reach the blue one in as many steps as possible, but you may only step to a side where you touch exactly one other tile.
About Mazetangle
Mazetangle is a browser puzzle by Oliver, published by Prize Potato, LLC. The board is a rectangle split into smaller rectangles. You are the red tile and the goal is the blue one, and the twist is that you are trying to reach it in as many steps as possible.
The movement rule is what makes it a maze: you can step left, right, up or down only if you are touching exactly one tile on that side. A large tile that borders several small ones cannot move in that direction, so some tiles cannot be reached at all. You move by swiping, tapping or using the arrow keys, with undo and reset buttons and a step counter. The Weekly set adds a hint that reveals the longest route.
Each day brings a Daily set of three mazes, dated at the top of the board, and a Weekly tab holds a larger set of 25 that changes each Sunday. The path you have walked is shown in yellow, so you can see where you have been. After finishing you can copy your scores for the day, with your times if you like, or share an animation of how you solved a level. The game describes itself as best with coffee or over a friend's shoulder.
It suits players who like spatial logic and short daily puzzles that look simple and are not.
How to play Mazetangle
- Open mazetangle.com; the Daily tab with today's first maze is shown.
- Move the red tile left, right, up or down with the arrow keys, a swipe or a tap; a move is allowed only if it touches exactly one tile on that side.
- Find the longest route you can to the blue tile, using Undo (z) and Reset (r) to try alternatives; the counter shows your steps.
- Finish all three daily mazes and copy your scores to share, or move on to the Weekly set of 25.

Tips
- Before moving, check which sides of each big tile touch more than one neighbour; those are walls.
- The longest path usually means visiting a far corner before turning back toward the goal.
- The Weekly set is gentler and has a hint: use it there to learn the patterns before the harder third Daily maze.
