Lootdle puzzle #228 on a desktop: five inventory slots with one purple item shown, five red HP hearts and a box to enter a game title, over a collage of game characters

Lootdle is a free daily guessing site for video game fans. Its main puzzle shows one item from a game's inventory and reveals another after each wrong guess, with five tries in all, and three other daily modes test what you know about descriptions, review scores and what games share. Every daily has an archive numbered from day 1.

About Lootdle

Lootdle is an independent fan project by Tiziano Tomarelli, built around one idea: a game can be recognised from the things you carry in it. The main daily puzzle has five inventory slots. It starts with one item showing, and each wrong guess reveals the next, so you have five hit points to name the game.

Three more dailies sit beside it. Descri-dle gives a store-style description of a game with the telling words replaced by [REDACTED], and wrong guesses unlock further clues. 5 or Flop shows five games with their genres and years and asks which one has the lowest Metacritic score, with one pick only. Imposter lists five games that share something, except one, and you pick the odd one out without being told the link.

A Connections mode, nine games in three secret groups of three, is still on the site with its archive, but it has had no new puzzle since 16 April 2026. Every daily mode has its own archive, numbered from day 1, so a missed day can be played later. There are also two endless modes outside the daily set: a Metacritic higher-or-lower streak and a HowLongToBeat higher-or-lower streak.

The whole site uses a pixel-art look and plays the same in a phone browser as on a desktop. It suits players who like Gamedle or GuessThe.Game and want several small game puzzles in one place each day.

How to play Lootdle

  1. Open lootdle.org and pick one of Today's Dailies.
  2. In Daily Lootdle, look at the first inventory item and type the name of the game you think it comes from.
  3. After each wrong guess, a new item appears and you lose one of five hit points: look at it and guess again.
  4. Move on to Descri-dle, 5 or Flop and Imposter to finish the day's set; 5 or Flop and Imposter give you one pick only.
  5. Use the archive buttons to replay any daily you missed.

Tips

  • Signature weapons and consumables give a game away faster than generic items like keys or coins.
  • In 5 or Flop, look for licensed tie-ins and rushed sequels first.
  • In Descri-dle, the length and place of each redacted word often points to the game's title or its main mechanic.
