on machinetranslation.com

LinguaBoard is a daily language trivia grid from MachineTranslation.com. Each row and column is a category about languages, their grammar, scripts or where they are spoken, and you name a language for every cell, choosing an Easy, Medium or Hard board for the day.
About LinguaBoard
LinguaBoard is a free daily puzzle made by MachineTranslation.com, a translation website. It works like the sports grid games: a 3x3 board where each row and each column has a category, and each cell needs a language that fits both. Categories mix grammar, writing systems and facts about where languages are spoken, such as a language with the same word for hello and goodbye, one written right to left, one with no grammatical gender, or one spoken where wild lions still roam.
The puzzle number is counted from the game's first day in May 2026, so every player sees the same boards on the same date. There are three boards a day: Easy has many valid languages per cell, Medium is the standard game and Hard leaves very few answers. Your choice of level is locked for the day once you start. You type a language, pick it from the list, and a right answer fills the cell with the language's own name and a rarity mark of common, uncommon or rare, which feeds your score. You have nine guesses and three hints that reveal a first letter, and a timer runs while you play.
A quote about language and a short language fact sit beside the board. After the daily boards there is an Unlimited mode for extra grids and a Past Puzzles list for earlier days, and a streak counts the days you play in a row.
It suits language learners, linguistics fans and anyone who likes grid trivia but would rather think about Portuguese and Swahili than baseball players.
How to play LinguaBoard
- Open LinguaBoard in a browser and choose Easy, Medium or Hard; the level is locked for the day once you start.
- Click a cell and type a language that matches both its row and its column category.
- Pick the language from the list; a right answer fills the cell with its native name and a rarity mark that adds to your score.
- Watch the nine guesses left, and spend one of the three hints to reveal a first letter when you are stuck.
- Fill as many cells as you can, then share your result or try Unlimited and Past Puzzles.

Tips
- Widely spoken languages such as English, Spanish, French and Arabic fit many categories, so save them for the cells where you have fewer ideas.
- Rare answers score more than common ones, so a less obvious language that fits is worth trying when you are sure of it.
- Start on Easy until you know the kinds of categories; Hard leaves very few languages per cell.
- Unlimited mode is a good place to practise the categories without spending your daily guesses.
