Knotilus level 10 board for 29 October 2026 with three sequences entered (5 6 11 17, 1 16 17 33, 1 5 6 11) above the ten number buttons

Knotilus is a daily number puzzle built on Fibonacci-like sequences, where each number is the sum of the two before it. Each day you get 10, 11 or 12 numbers, depending on the level, and must find the three four-number sequences that share one knot number and use every other number exactly once. It is free, has no ads and needs no account.

About Knotilus

Knotilus is a browser puzzle built on the Fibonacci idea. In a Fibonacci-like sequence each number from the third on is the sum of the two before it, as in 1, 5, 6, 11. Each day the game deals out a row of numbers, and several such four-number sequences can be made from them. The help page says there are 4 to 10 on any day.

You build a sequence by tapping four numbers in increasing order, and the game takes it as soon as the fourth fits. Only one set of three sequences solves the day. One number, the knot, sits in all three, and each of the other numbers is used exactly once. On 29 October 2026 the level 10 puzzle had four possible sequences, and three of them tied together at the number 1.

There are three levels, set by how many numbers are in play: 10, 11 or 12. Each level has its own puzzle for the date. Easy mode adds visual cues while you solve, and Hard mode takes them away. Three lock icons each give away one solution sequence if you are stuck. A timer runs until you pick the right three, and then any sequences you missed are revealed.

The game keeps stats and streaks in your browser and compares your time with benchmarks from other players. It also runs a weekly leaderboard and a seasonal team competition called the Golden Ratio League. Every day since October 2024 can be replayed from the archive. The sums are small, so the challenge is in the elimination. It suits players who like a short logic puzzle with numbers more than a race of mental arithmetic.

How to play Knotilus

  1. Open Knotilus, pick a level (10, 11 or 12 numbers) and Easy or Hard mode, then press Play.
  2. Tap four numbers in increasing order where the third is the sum of the first two and the fourth is the sum of the second and third. The game enters the sequence when the fourth number fits.
  3. Keep building sequences until you can see which three share a single number, the knot.
  4. Tap three sequences to choose them. Your answer goes in as soon as the third is picked, so be sure first.
  5. Tap one of the lock icons by Hints to reveal one solution sequence when you are stuck.

Tips

  • Start from the largest numbers. The last number of a sequence must be the sum of the two before it, so the big ones have few possible partners.
  • A number that turns up in several of your sequences is a good guess for the knot.
  • The numbers left over after two solution sequences are fixed usually point straight to the third.
  • Finding every possible sequence before you choose is allowed, and the game notes it when you share.

Questions

What is a Fibonacci-like sequence?

A sequence where each number from the third on is the sum of the two before it, like 1, 5, 6, 11 or 5, 6, 11, 17.

What is the knot?

The one number shared by all three solution sequences. Every other number on the board is used exactly once.

How many Knotilus puzzles are there each day?

Three, one for each level. Level 10 uses ten numbers, level 11 eleven and level 12 twelve. Easy and Hard change how much help the board gives, not the puzzle.

When does Knotilus reset?

At midnight by your device's clock. Earlier days can be played from the archive, which goes back to October 2024.

Does Knotilus have ads?

No. The page loads no ad scripts and shows no ads. It is supported through a Ko-fi page.
