Jumble is Nerdcube's daily Boggle-style word game. Each day brings one 5 by 5 letter grid for everyone, and you have two minutes to trace words through touching tiles, diagonals included. Longer words score more, and 15, 25 and 40 points earn one, two and three stars.
About Jumble (Nerdcube)
Jumble gives you a 5 by 5 grid of letters and a two-minute clock. You form words of three or more letters by connecting adjacent tiles, including diagonals, and each tile can be used only once per word. You can drag across the tiles, or tap them one at a time and double-tap to submit.
The grid is numbered and the same for everyone each day. Jumble #1 came out on 1 February 2026, and #270 was the grid on 28 October 2026. The letters come from 25 dice like those of the 5 by 5 Boggle set, so the grid has a fair spread of vowels and a single Qu tile when that die shows it.
Scoring rewards length. A three-letter word is worth 1 point, four letters 2, five letters 4 and six or more 8. When the clock runs out you get a star rating (one star at 15 points, two at 25, three at 40) and a short result to copy and share. Every earlier grid stays playable in the archive, listed by month.
Nerdcube Daily is a small set of daily browser puzzles: Dabble builds high-scoring words on a daily board, Carom slides pieces to a goal in the fewest moves, Inlay fills a shape with pentominoes, Trio finds groups of shapes in the style of Set, and Jumble is the timed word grid. They are free, need no account and show no ads.
It suits fans of Boggle and of fast word hunts that fit into a coffee break.

Tips
- Look for common endings like -ING, -ED and -ER and build back from them.
- Plurals of words you have found often count too.
- Six letters or more is worth 8 points, so one long word beats several short ones.
- Scan the corners. They are easy to overlook.
