Icon Match is a daily memory game on Fox News's games page. Sixteen face-down cards hide eight icons and their names, all on one theme for the day, and you turn them over two at a time to pair them all. Fewer moves earn more stars.
About Icon Match (Fox News)
Icon Match is one of the free daily games on the Fox News games page, next to its crosswords, sudoku, word search and word games. Each day brings one new board for everyone, built around a theme shown beside it under the heading On This Day. On 26 October 2026 the theme was Musical Instruments, with the note "Match each instrument to its name".
The board is a four by four grid of face-down cards. Half of them show a picture, such as a banjo, and the other half show a name. You tap one card, then a second. When a picture meets its own name the two stay face up. When they do not, both turn back over, and a small dot marks each card you have already seen. Counters beside the board track your moves and how many of the eight pairs you have found.
A lightbulb button gives one hint, a restart button deals the same board again, and a question mark opens the rules. The page says fewer moves mean more stars, so a careful player tries to remember every card they have seen before turning a new one.
The game runs in the browser on a desktop and on a phone with no sign-up. The Fox News page around it carries ad scripts. A round takes a few minutes, which suits anyone who wants a short memory test with a different subject each day.
How to play Icon Match (Fox News)

Tips
- Turn over cards you have not seen yet before guessing at a pair you only half remember.
- The small dot on a card means you have already looked at it, so use those cards for pairs you are sure of.
- Keep the one hint for the last two or three pairs, when it saves the most moves.
