I Would Like to Solve is a daily phrase puzzle in the spirit of a game-show letter board. You get one hint, a few revealed letters and blank squares to fill, and only one guess. Valid answers that are not the intended one compete on a Top wrong answers leaderboard.
About I Would Like to Solve
I Would Like to Solve takes its name from the line contestants say on letter-board quiz shows. Each day there is one puzzle: a short phrase laid out on a grid of blue squares across two or three rows, with a single hint underneath and a few letters already placed. On 30 October 2026 the hint was MIGHT NOT WORK, with A, D, R and S shown.
You click a square and type letters into the blanks, then press Solve the puzzle. There is only one guess. The revealed letters are a help and a trap. Some appear in the answer and some may not, and a revealed letter cannot be used again in the blanks: the game turns a reused letter red and will not take that guess. Answers must be real, non-obscene English words to count on your profile and the leaderboards. Anything else can only be sent privately.
There is one intended solution, but many phrases can fit, and the game leans into that. Every valid alternative gets an entry on the day's Top wrong answers board, and sending one counts as a vote for it. Players with accounts can upvote other answers after they have sent their own. So you can aim for the right answer or for the funniest one.
Past days stay open in History, where arrows step back through earlier dates without a login. An optional account, set up with a phone number, adds voting, a profile and friends whose solutions you see once you have sent yours. It suits word-game players who enjoy a bit of wit as much as getting it right.
How to play I Would Like to Solve
- Read the hint under the board and note the letters already revealed.
- Click a blank blue square and type letters to complete the phrase.
- Leave the revealed letters out of the blanks. The game marks a reused one in red and refuses the guess.
- Press Solve the puzzle once every square is filled, then confirm your one guess.
- See whether you matched the intended answer, and look over the Top wrong answers board.

Tips
- Work out the word lengths first; short words like THE, AND or OF often fall into place quickly.
- Remember that some revealed letters may not be in the answer at all.
- If the intended answer escapes you, a clever valid alternative can still climb the wrong-answers leaderboard.
