Hueman puzzle #131, level 1: a two by two grid of pink tiles with one darker magenta tile, the timer bar and three lives above it

Hueman is a daily colour perception game. Each day everyone gets the same numbered run of grids, and in every grid one tile is a shade off. Tap it before the timer empties; each level the difference gets smaller, the grid bigger and the clock shorter, and three misses end the run with your level as the score.

About Hueman

Hueman turns the old odd-one-out colour test into a numbered daily. Every player sees the same sequence of grids on the same day, so scores can be compared on a daily leaderboard and shared. The first puzzle went up on 11 June 2026; 19 October 2026 is number 131, and every past day can be played from the archive.

A run starts with a two by two grid where one tile is plainly darker or lighter than the rest, each level in a new colour. Tap it and the next level appears with more tiles, a subtler difference and less time. There are 60 levels and three lives. When the lives are gone, the game shows how far you got, how that compares with other players that day, and a result to share.

There are no words or numbers to deal with, so it works in any language, and a run takes a minute or two. It needs no download or sign-up: streaks, stats and history are kept in your browser. The daily is free and the site carries ads. Optional paid credits buy extra runs at the same puzzle, ranked on a separate Unlimited board, so they do not touch the main daily board. A practice round, unranked, lets you warm up.

Hueman is published by Puzzle Page, a site of free daily games. It suits players who like quick, visual dailies and want something different from word and number puzzles.

How to play Hueman

  1. Open Hueman and press Start today's puzzle; the first grid appears with the timer running.
  2. Find the one tile whose shade differs from the rest and tap it before the timer bar empties.
  3. Each correct tap moves you to a bigger grid with a smaller difference and less time.
  4. A wrong tap or running out of time costs one of your three lives.
  5. When your lives are gone, your last level is your score: share it or compare it on the daily leaderboard.

Tips

  • Look at the whole grid at once rather than scanning tile by tile; the odd shade often stands out in peripheral vision.
  • Turn your screen brightness up and avoid glare.
  • Lean back from the screen on the later levels: small differences are easier to see at a distance.
  • Do not rush the early levels; a lost life there costs more than a second of time.

Questions

When does a new Hueman come out?

At midnight UTC each day, the same puzzle for every player worldwide.

Can I play past puzzles?

Yes. The archive lists every daily since the first one on 11 June 2026.

How many mistakes can I make?

Three. A wrong tile or a timeout costs a life.

Is Hueman free?

Yes. The daily is free in the browser with no sign-up, and the site shows ads. Paid credits only buy extra runs on a separate Unlimited board.

Is it a colour blindness test?

No. The site says it is a game, not a medical test, and that the shade differences include brightness so most players with colour vision deficiency can play.
