Hollowdle is a small fan-made guessing game for Hollow Knight. Each day it sets one character, guessed from columns like region, species and weapon, and one charm, guessed from its cost, category and location, with free-play zoom and soundtrack challenges beside them.
About Hollowdle
Hollowdle is a fan project hosted on GitHub Pages by its maker, kaosi21, and is not affiliated with Team Cherry. It began as a set of free-play challenges, and an update dated 9 June 2025 added the daily game, reached from the calendar icon on the menu.
The daily character page is headed with the date, for example Daily Character for 2026-10-24. You type a Hollow Knight character's name and each guess fills a row with its image, name, region, first appearance, species, weapon, gameplay role and gender, marked against the answer. Three help buttons sit above the box: show the region, show a blurred image, and reveal the answer, labelled 4, 8 and 10. A link under a solved board leads to the daily charm, where you find a charm from its notch cost, category and where it is found.
The menu also offers the same challenges without the daily limit, a zoomed-in image challenge and a sound challenge built on the game's soundtrack, plus a table of every attribute. No account is asked for.
It suits players who have explored most of Hallownest and want a short daily check of the cast and the charms.
How to play Hollowdle
- Open Hollowdle and press the calendar icon on the menu to start the daily game.
- Type a Hollow Knight character's name and press Submit.
- Compare the row's region, first appearance, species, weapon, gameplay and gender with the answer.
- Use the region, blurred image or reveal buttons if you get stuck.
- When you have the character, follow the link to the daily charm and guess it from cost, category and location.

- Region is the strongest first filter: Hallownest's areas each have a small cast.
- Weapon and gameplay together separate bosses from merchants and quest characters.
- For the charm, the notch cost narrows the list more than the category does.
