Guess Calories is a free browser game that shows one food a day, such as half a cantaloupe or a slice of pizza, with its portion size. You get three guesses at its calorie count, with higher or lower and hot or cold hints after each, and a guess within 10% wins. After the daily item you can keep going in endless mode.
About Guess Calories
Guess Calories turns calorie counting into a short daily round. Each day the game picks one food item, shows its photo and portion (for example "Half A Cantaloupe Melon (1.5 pounds)"), and asks a single question: how many calories does it have? Everyone who plays on the same day gets the same item.
You type a number and lock it in. After each guess the game tells you whether the real count is higher or lower, and an emoji shows how close you are, from a freezing face for a guess far off to fire when you are nearly there and a target for a perfect hit. You have three guesses, and anything within 10% of the true value counts as a win. Tapping the food's name opens the source of its calorie figure.
When the daily item is done you can share your result, which shows your pattern of hints without giving the food away, and keep playing in an endless mode with more foods. A streak counts the days you complete the daily challenge. It plays in the browser with no download and no account.
The food pool is small: on 25 October 2026 it held 33 items, from a Kraft Single to a can of tuna, and that day the daily round failed to load with no item left to serve, while endless mode still worked. It suits players who like price-guessing games such as Costcodle or Its Price (the same site links to Its Price), and anyone curious how far their sense of portion sizes and calories is from the real numbers. A round takes about a minute.
How to play Guess Calories
- Open the game and look at the day's food item, its photo and the portion named under it.
- Type your calorie estimate in the box and press Lock guess.
- Read the arrow and emoji: the arrow says whether the real count is higher or lower, the emoji how close you are.
- Adjust and guess again; you have three guesses in all.
- Land within 10% of the real calorie count to win, then share your result or carry on in endless mode.
Tips
- Use the portion size in the name: a weight in pounds or grams matters more than the photo.
- Make a bold first guess and use the hot or cold emoji to judge how far to move, not just the arrow.
- Fruit and vegetables are mostly water, so whole items can be lower than they look; fried and baked foods run higher.
