Play FlagGuessr

on flagguessr.app

FlagGuessr #155 on desktop: the day's flag zoomed in on a coat of arms, five empty guess rows, the input box and the scoring panel

FlagGuessr shows a small, zoomed-in part of the day's country flag and gives you five guesses to name it. Each wrong guess zooms out to show more, and a continent hint arrives after the first miss. Fewer guesses earn more points, up to 10,000.

About FlagGuessr

FlagGuessr is a free daily flag game from Stoop, a small network of daily browser games that also includes DailyGuessr, CocktailGuessr, Palette, Bloom and Sortl. Each numbered puzzle is one country's flag, published at midnight UTC and the same for every player around the world. The first puzzle went up on 20 May 2026.

The flag starts zoomed in four times, so only about a quarter of it shows: often just a field of colour or a corner of an emblem. You type a country name, pick it from the autocomplete list and press Guess. Each wrong guess zooms out a step, from 4x to 2.5x, 1.75x, 1.25x and finally the whole flag, and after your first miss a hint line names the continent. How hard a day is depends on the flag: a plain tricolour gives little away, while a flag with lettering on its emblem can be read in the first view.

Scoring rewards speed: 10,000 points for a first-guess answer, then 8,000, 6,000, 4,000 and 2,000, each with a label from Vexillologist down to Clueless. There is no play-again button, but a calendar of past puzzles lets you go back to days you missed, and your stats and streak are kept in the browser. Your result can be shared as an emoji grid that shows only your guess count.

It needs no account, has no timer and shows no ads. It suits anyone who wants to stop confusing Chad with Romania, and flag fans who like a puzzle that starts with very little to go on.

How to play FlagGuessr

  1. Open FlagGuessr and study the zoomed-in part of the flag.
  2. Type a country name, choose it from the autocomplete list, then press Guess.
  3. After a wrong guess, look at the wider view and the continent hint.
  4. Name the flag within five guesses; the fewer you use, the more points you score.
  5. Share your result, or open Past Puzzles to play a day you missed.

Tips

  • Look at the exact shade and order of stripes: many tricolours differ only in those.
  • Pan-African red, yellow and green point to Africa; red, white, black and green often to the Arab world.
  • A Union Jack in the corner suggests a Commonwealth country, and a Nordic cross means northern Europe.
  • Any part of an emblem or coat of arms is worth more than a stripe of colour, and some emblems carry the country's name.
  • Your streak resets if you miss a day, so use the calendar to catch up on one you skipped.
