Figure is a free browser nonogram game with a puzzle of the day, the same for everyone, plus a catalogue of 43 hand-drawn pictures to play at any time. Every puzzle is checked by a solver so it can be finished one line at a time without a guess. Clues turn grey when their line matches and red when what you have filled in makes the line impossible.
About Figure (Stew Prod)
Figure is a nonogram game, also known as picross. Numbers down the side and along the top give the lengths of the filled runs in each row and column, in order, with at least one empty cell between runs. Work out where each run sits and a small pixel picture comes out of the grid. When you finish, the picture is revealed and named.
The Today's button opens the puzzle of the day, chosen from the catalogue by the calendar date, so everyone plays the same one that day and a new one comes up after midnight. The 43 puzzles come in four sizes, from Small at 5x5 to Huge at 20x20, and are rated gentle, steady or stiff by a solver. Every one has been checked to be solvable line by line, so if you are stuck there is a line somewhere with more to give. A clue goes grey when its line matches it and red as soon as your marks make it impossible, without saying which cell is wrong. The clock starts at your first mark, and you can copy your result to share it.
The Puzzles list lets you play any of the others, and a puzzle keeps its name hidden until you have solved it. Figure has light and dark themes, keyboard controls and no sound, and needs no sign-up. It is made by Stew Prod and was released free on itch.io in October 2026; the page discloses AI assistance for code and graphics.
The daily works through the catalogue in a fixed walk that strides across it, so two days in a row rarely give pictures of the same size, and the whole set comes round again after 43 days. Finished dailies add up to a run shown under the board with a small week strip and a countdown to the next puzzle. Weekends never break the run, and a missed weekday can be made up the next day.
How to play Figure (Stew Prod)
- Open Figure on itch.io, press Run game and choose Today's.
- Read each row and column clue as the lengths of its filled runs, in order.
- Click or drag along a row or column to fill cells you have proved are filled.
- Right click, or switch to Cross mode, to cross out cells you have proved are empty.
- Keep going until the filled cells match the picture, which is then revealed and named.

Tips
- Start with the biggest clues: a run longer than half its line always covers the middle cells.
- Cross out cells as you prove them empty; the game's own help says skipping this is how you get stuck.
- If a clue turns red, something in that line is wrong, so check that line before going further.
Questions
When does Figure's daily puzzle change?
At midnight on your own device's clock. The puzzle is chosen from the calendar date, so everyone on the same date gets the same one.
Will I ever need to guess?
No. Every puzzle is checked by a solver and can be finished one line at a time.
Can I play more than the daily?
Yes. The Puzzles list holds all 43 pictures to play at any time.
Is it free?
Yes. It plays in the browser on itch.io with nothing to sign up for.
How often do the daily pictures repeat?
The daily steps through all 43 puzzles before any comes back, so the same picture returns about every six weeks.
