Dominion is the official digital version of Donald X. Vaccarino's deck-building board game, made by Temple Gates Games. Its Daily Dominion gives every player the same Kingdom of cards each day, including expansion cards you may not own, and one try to beat the Hard AI. Wins are tracked as crowns over the week and compared with friends and the world.
About Dominion (Temple Gates)
Dominion was the board game that popularised deck-building: each player starts with a small deck of coins and land, then buys cards from a shared supply called the Kingdom to build a stronger deck, aiming to hold the most victory points when the game ends. Temple Gates Games makes the licensed app, playable on PC and mobile, with the base set free and expansions sold separately.
The Daily Dominion arrived in 2022. Each day the app sets up one Kingdom, the same for all players worldwide, and you play it once against the AI, set to Hard unless you change it. The developers describe it as their take on a morning crossword: one puzzle, one try. The Kingdom rotates through expansion cards, so it doubles as a free daily taste of sets you have not bought.
Winning earns a crown for the day. The Daily page shows your wins over the past seven days, a leaderboard of friends' wins that week, and a histogram of how players around the world fared. The daily resets at midnight Pacific time.
It suits board game players who like a single, well-defined strategy problem each morning, and newcomers who want to learn Dominion's many cards in small doses.
How to play Dominion (Temple Gates)
- Open Dominion and choose the Daily Dominion from the title menu.
- Study the day's Kingdom: the ten action cards available to buy.
- Play your turns against the Hard AI: play actions, then buy cards with your coins.
- Build a deck that can buy Provinces and other victory cards faster than the AI.
- Win to earn the day's crown; you only get one try.
