DailyMetro New York is a daily guessing game about the New York City Subway. Type any station and the game colours its lines, the direction to the target, the length of its name and its borough green, orange or red, leading you to the day's station in 8 guesses. Map and Photo rounds follow on the same day.
About DailyMetro New York
DailyMetro is a set of free browser games, one per city, made by Eliott, an engineer who builds them in their spare time. The New York edition covers the New York City Subway and is shown in English, like the local version of the game.
Each day has one hidden station and a day number, the same for everyone. You start with any station you like. For each guess the board shows four clues: the lines it is on, an arrow pointing from your guess toward the target, the number of letters in its name with an arrow for longer or shorter, and its zone or district. Each clue turns green for a match, orange for a partial match or red for a miss.
Each day has three rounds: Classic, then Map, where you place the station on a map of the network, then Photo, where you recognise a station from a picture of its entrance. At the fourth guess the game shows you the line, and a button lets you give up and see the map. A Normal difficulty gives more hints, while Connoisseur swaps in harder clues such as traffic and name origins. Past days can be replayed, a streak counter tracks your run, and no account is needed. The page carries NitroPay ads: a bottom banner, side rails on wide screens and a video on phones.
It suits locals and transit fans who know their network by heart, as well as visitors who want to learn it one station at a time.
