Daily Themed Crossword is a phone crossword app from PlaySimple Games with a new themed grid every day. About Daily Themed Crossword
Daily Themed Crossword has been on the App Store since 2017 and is made by PlaySimple Games. Every day it releases a crossword built around a theme, and the store listing says three free themed daily puzzles come out each day. The main grid is 13 by 13; on 17 October 2026 its six linked theme clues followed a week of hanging out in the 1960s, from a diner on Monday to a roller rink and an arcade later in the week.
You tap a square or a clue and type answers on the in-app keyboard. Clues are friendly rather than cryptic, for example asking for Dwayne Johnson a.k.a. The ROCK, so it plays closer to a casual puzzle than a hard newspaper crossword. Hints reveal letters or words when you are stuck, and daily rewards give coins to spend on them. Because everyone gets the same puzzle, each date's clues and answers are widely posted on answer sites.
The app is free with ads, and players report an ad after most puzzles. An optional VIP membership removes ads, opens five archived puzzles a day and the mini archive, and adds bonus coins; No Ads packs are also sold in the store. The app works offline and was last updated in September 2026. It suits casual solvers who like trivia-flavoured clues on movies, TV, sport and music.
