Daily Skyline share image with three phone screens: the September 20, 2026 home card, a 5x5 skyscraper board in play and a calendar of past days

Daily Skyline is an iPhone app with one skyscraper logic puzzle a day, the same board for everyone. You fill a 5x5 grid with buildings of heights 1 to 5, once per row and column, so that the numbers on the edges match how many buildings can be seen from each side. Early-week boards are gentle and weekends are harder.

About Daily Skyline

A skyscraper puzzle, also called towers, is a Latin square with a view. Each row and column holds one building of each height from 1 to 5, and the clue at the end of a line says how many rooftops you would see looking along it, since taller buildings hide shorter ones behind them. Daily Skyline generates one board per calendar date, checks that it has a single solution, and locks it so every player gets the same one.

The home screen shows the day's edition number, date and difficulty, a week strip of past results and a countdown to the next puzzle. You get notes, undo, a mistake limit and a few hints, plus one second chance per puzzle. A streak counts solved days, with freezes earned every seven days to cover a miss, and Skyline Points rate your solves against each board's typical time. Game Center leaderboards are optional, and you can send a friend a link to race on the same board.

Daily Skyline is made by Murat Hudavendigar Oncu and came to the App Store in August 2026. The daily puzzle, Expert difficulty and the recent archive are free with no ads and no account; an optional Pro yearly plan or lifetime purchase adds the full archive from day one, themes, unlimited second chances and more stats. An Android version is listed as coming soon.

How to play Daily Skyline

  1. Open the app and tap Solve the skyline on today's card.
  2. Read the clues around the grid: each says how many buildings are visible from that side.
  3. Place heights 1 to 5 so each appears once in every row and column.
  4. Use notes for candidates and undo if you slip; mistakes are limited.
  5. Finish the grid to log your time and extend your streak.

Tips

  • A clue of 1 means the tallest building, 5, stands right next to it.
  • A clue of 5 means the line reads 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 from that side.
  • Where a 2 faces a 1 is often the quickest way into a row.
