Daily Mini Killer (SudokuWiki)
Rate itA small 6x6 killer sudoku every day: digits 1 to 6, coloured cages with sums.
on sudokuwiki.org

The Daily Mini Killer is SudokuWiki's numbered daily killer sudoku on a 6x6 grid. Fill the digits 1 to 6 so each row, column and box holds them once, while the numbers in each coloured cage add up to its total. The page says a new puzzle comes at midnight GMT, but it appears about three hours later.
About Daily Mini Killer (SudokuWiki)
SudokuWiki.org, Andrew Stuart's sudoku strategy site, runs a family of numbered daily puzzles, and the Mini Killer is the quickest of its killers. The grid is 6x6, split into 2x3 boxes, so each row, column and box takes the digits 1 to 6. On top of that the grid is divided into coloured cages, each with a small sum in its corner: the digits in a cage must add up to that sum and may not repeat inside it. Few or no digits are given at the start.
Each puzzle has a number, a date and a grade, and the grades cycle from Gentle to Diabolical: #812 on 21 October 2026 was Diabolical. The free page gives the day's grade; All-Access Supporters can play all four. The player has a 1 to 6 number pad, notes with options to prefill or auto-clear them, undo and redo, a check button, a restart, a timer with pause, keyboard controls and black-and-white or colour print versions. Below the board a calendar keeps the last 30 days of puzzles, with a solutions panel beside it.
The small grid makes it a good way into killer sudoku: the cage arithmetic is the same as on a full 9x9 killer, but a puzzle takes minutes rather than an hour. The page links to SudokuWiki's own guides on cage combinations, innies and outies and cage splitting.
The page says each new puzzle comes at midnight GMT, yet the previous day's grid stays up until about 03:00 UTC, so players in Europe and the Americas can still be on yesterday's number after their own midnight.
It suits sudoku players who want a short daily killer, and newcomers learning cage sums before moving to the site's full Daily Killer. The page is laid out for a desktop; on a phone it is the same page shrunk, so the cells are small without zooming.

Tips
- Start with the smallest and largest cages: a 3 in two cells can only be 1 and 2, and an 11 in two cells only 5 and 6.
- Each row, column and box of a 6x6 grid adds up to 21, so a box's cages that spill one cell outside it give that cell's value.
- Prefill notes puts 1 to 6 in every cell if you prefer to strike candidates out rather than add them.
Questions
What time does the Daily Mini Killer change?
The page says midnight GMT, but the previous day's grid stays up for about three more hours: at 00:24 UTC on 22 October the page still showed #812 of 21 October, and pressing New only answered that today's puzzles were loaded. On SudokuWiki's daily puzzles the new grid has been seen arriving between about 03:00 and 03:15 UTC.
Is the Daily Mini Killer free?
Yes. The day's puzzle is free to play on the page, which carries ads. All-Access Supporters can also play the other three grades of each day.
Can I play earlier puzzles?
A calendar under the board lists the last 30 days of Mini Killer puzzles.
