on dailymindchallenge.com

Daily Mind Challenge is a free web site with four daily puzzles: a five-letter word guess, a Sudoku, a word search and a sixteen-word grouping puzzle. Everyone gets the same four on the same date, each solve earns points for speed and accuracy, and the totals feed a public leaderboard. Two of its own games, Quilt and Pounce, are already playable in Classic modes and get their own dailies from 1 November 2026. You can play as a guest with no sign-up.
About Daily Mind Challenge
Daily Mind Challenge puts several puzzle types on one site and gives each a Daily Challenge. Four run daily now: a Wordle-style word, a Sudoku, a Word Search and a Connections-style grouping puzzle. The daily puzzles are numbered, the same for every player on a given calendar date, and unlock at midnight on your own device rather than at one global hour. On 23 October 2026 the word and the Sudoku were both at #53.
The daily word gives you six tries to find a five-letter word, with green, yellow and gray tiles. If you miss, the word stays hidden and you can try the same word again after a one-hour wait, as many times as you like until the day ends. The Sudoku is a classic 9x9 grid with a timer that starts on your first cell and an error count; mistakes cost points but do not end the puzzle, and there is no hint button. The word search asks you to drag across the grid to find every hidden word, and the grouping puzzle asks you to sort sixteen words into four groups of four with four mistakes allowed, colour-coded from straightforward yellow to tricky purple.
Two newer games are the site's own takes on known logic puzzles. Quilt is Shikaku: you split a grid of numbers into rectangles whose areas match the numbers, and when the board is done each piece takes its real colour to reveal a pixel-art picture. Pounce is a Star Battle with cats: one cat in every row, column and colour region, no two touching, with sleeping dogs marking empty cells, numbered pawprints on Hard boards, Whisker Tips that explain the next step, and a new cat for your Cat Cafe with each daily. Both can be played now in Classic modes at three sizes. Their Daily Challenge shows a preview of puzzle #1 until the daily boards start on 1 November 2026.
What sets it apart from playing the games separately is the scoring. Every solved daily puzzle earns points for finishing plus bonuses for speed and accuracy, and the points add up on a leaderboard you can view by game or overall, for today, the week, the month, the year or all time. Guests can play and appear on the leaderboard; a free account adds streaks, XP, rank and achievements.
Beyond the daily puzzles there are Classic modes at Easy, Medium or Hard, timed Tournament runs such as Patchwork Run for Quilt and Nine Lives Run for Pounce, and a Challenge a Friend mode for the word game where you pick a word and share a link. The pages have spaces marked for ads, but on our visit they held only placeholder text. It suits players who already do a word guess and a Sudoku every morning and want them in one place with a score to chase.
How to play Daily Mind Challenge
- Open dailymindchallenge.com and pick one of today's puzzles: Wordle, Sudoku, Word Search or Connections, or Quilt and Pounce.
- Press Sign In to Play, then continue as a guest with a display name or log in to a free account.
- Word guess: type a five-letter word and press Enter; green means right letter in the right place, yellow means the letter is elsewhere in the word, gray means it is not in the word. You have six tries.
- Sudoku: tap a cell, then tap a number, until every row, column and 3x3 box holds 1 to 9 once each.
- Word Search: drag in a straight line from a word's first letter to its last to mark each hidden word.
- Connections: select four words you think share a link and press Submit; find all four groups before your four mistakes run out.
- Quilt: drag from corner to corner to draw rectangles so each holds exactly one number equal to its area and every cell is covered.
- Pounce: tap once to mark a cell empty and again to place a cat, until every row, column and colour region holds one cat and no two cats touch.
- Check the leaderboard to see your points for the day against other players.

Tips
- The Sudoku timer only starts when you select your first cell, so read the grid over before you begin.
- Wrong numbers in the daily Sudoku cost accuracy points but do not end the puzzle, so correct them and keep going.
- A missed daily word can be tried again after one hour, but points only come when you solve it.
- In the grouping puzzle, look for words with two meanings first; they are usually what makes one group overlap another.
- Make a free account if you want your streak counted; guests earn points but no streaks.
- In Quilt, start with the 1s and with numbers in corners; prime numbers can only be a single row or column.
- In Pounce, start with the smallest colour regions, and cross out the eight cells around every cat you place.
Questions
When do the Daily Mind Challenge puzzles reset?
At midnight on your own device. Everyone gets the same puzzles on the same calendar date, but the hour the new ones appear depends on your time zone.
Do I need an account?
No. You can play every daily puzzle as a guest under a display name and still earn points and appear on the leaderboard. A free account adds streaks, XP, rank and achievements, and lets you create challenges.
Is Daily Mind Challenge free?
Yes. All the daily puzzles and the extra modes are free to play. The pages have spaces marked for ads, but on our visit in October 2026 they showed no ads.
Can I play more than one puzzle a day?
The Daily Challenge in each game is one puzzle a day, but Sudoku, Word Search, Connections, Quilt and Pounce have Classic modes at Easy, Medium and Hard that you can replay as often as you like, and every game has timed Tournament runs.
When do Quilt and Pounce get daily puzzles?
Their Daily Challenge starts on 1 November 2026. Until then the daily page shows a preview of puzzle #1, and the Classic modes can be played any time.
