CrossMapQuest
Rate itName a country that fits two criteria at once, five rounds a day.
on crossmapquest.com

CrossMapQuest is a daily geography game played on a 3D globe. Each of its five rounds sets two criteria side by side, a fixed fact and a statistic in the top or bottom quarter of countries, and you click a country that fits both. Rarer correct answers score more, and the last week of days can be replayed.
About CrossMapQuest
CrossMapQuest is one of a family of daily quiz games by the developer known as C3-Peyo, alongside TerraeQuest, StatesQuest, AtomixQuest, HistoriaQuest and HeatmapQuest. Its daily puzzle has five rounds, and each round shows two criteria at the foot of the screen. The left one is a fixed fact, such as bordering Germany, being an island or being a monarchy. The right one puts the country in the top or bottom share of the world on a statistic, such as median age, coffee drunk per person, air pollution, broadband subscriptions or population.
You answer by clicking a country on a 3D globe that you can rotate and zoom. You have five attempts per round, and each wrong pick costs a star. A correct answer scores more the fewer players chose it, in six rarity tiers from Frequent to Untraceable. After the round the globe shows your pick, your wrong picks and every other country that would have fitted.
The data comes from Wikipedia and other public sources, and the site notes that some values are approximate. Countries with no data for a criterion are marked on the globe. The game keeps streaks, trophies and a leaderboard, and an optional free account carries them across devices. The last seven days can be replayed from the archive, without points, and leagues let you compare scores with friends or colleagues. A weekly Survival mode, with a timer and lives, opens every Wednesday.
It suits players of GeoGrid and GeoRiddle who like matching countries to two conditions, and anyone who enjoys country statistics. The game can be played in English or French.
How to play CrossMapQuest
- Open crossmapquest.com and start the daily puzzle.
- Read the two criteria at the bottom of the screen: a fixed fact on the left and a top or bottom percentage on a statistic on the right.
- Rotate and zoom the globe, then click a country you think fits both.
- If the pick is wrong you lose a star and can try again, up to five attempts in the round.
- See which other countries would have fitted, then go on through all five rounds and compare your score.

Tips
- Start from the stricter criterion: a fixed fact like bordering Germany leaves only a handful of countries to test against the statistic.
- A rarer correct country scores more, so if you are sure of an unusual answer, take it over the obvious one.
- Small island states and microstates often sit at the extremes of a statistic.
- Use the question mark beside each criterion to read exactly what it measures.
